A message to the rain Walking through you, you pound on my head, drench my hair into drips, and I love you. Walking through you, you dribble down my face, force you way into my mouth, and I love you. Walking through you, feeling you mix with my tears, like you’re watering down my pain, and I love you. -Jacki
I am the wind Last night I blew strong on a washing line Trousers billowed, garden windsocks. I make mischief, tease and play. I can’t blow through solid walls and doors, But find tiny gaps where I gasp more than blow. On bold sunny days I rest and form gentle breaths, small ripples. If I choose I move sturdy objects, spread scents, give life, make waves, howl. I am fierce, I am kind, I am wind. -Anonymous
Message to my Granddaughter I sparkle with a myriad of glistening hues, Inspiring artists capturing my beauty. I have fathomless depths, Often I can be dangerous. When people underestimate my power.
You are the light of my life I see you every day
When I am calm on bright sunny hot days people bathe in my salty water.
Some days you make me scowl When you won’t do as your asked And then you sulk and slam the door I don’t like that at all.
I speak in many languages To many people Sometimes I roar Sometimes my voice is gentle Shooshing. Shooshing to and fro Like a mother singing to her children. -Victoria C
I love you smile, your thick brown hair, The way you knot your socks!
We love to go out and eat ice cream You always make me smile And sometimes we are quiet Just sit at home and dream. -Judith

Oh to last night’s cup of tea I missed our meetings yesterday; the breakfast, the elevenses, all those usual hang-outs. We caught up at 9 o’clock. My feet finally up. The TV wasn’t on. A puppy snored gently. The whole room was a stage set for your bright warmth and malty cuddle. You beauty! Am I really so easily please or did you save your best self for when I could notice. The clock ticking. My satisfied lip-smack gasp. The slippers on my feet. -

A winter fire, glowing with warmth. Rippling with softness. The smoke rising gently, from the cottage chimney. Red hot embers, gently smouldering, Brightly in the night sky. Look over your shoulder to feast your eyes on more. I listen to my heart, Leading me through this wilderness. Listening to the wind, Gently whispering through the tall trees Time for all to sleep, under cold clear starry skies. -Jeff
Ode to a tree I bathe in you shadow Striped filtered light The breeze bending as it curves around us. Strange couple. Me just seven and halfyou more than a century. What knowledge passes one to other? A child And a tree. - Adele
Cat My silent lover, muted steps Have I told you How your warmth evolves my sleep and we float to the roof of darkness? It is just the stillness of your breath. -Graciela
Ode to lighthouse, from a whale Upright beauteous creature that reaches out to me Night upon night, light upon light, Alone on your watchCan you hear the beating of my heart, as big as a car? You shine hope to me and my warm blood pounds from blowhole to tail in the wonder of your beams. The lighthouse replies: I can never be, for you are a fish and I am stone The whale retorts: I am not a fish, but I am fickle. Farewell -Chantelle
