School of rock. On 25th March we celebrate the Music Day in the assembly room of the high school. Every year the music teachers prepare a show where the students can play instruments and sing for the rest of the high school. The show last the whole day and there are four parts, because there are too many students for being inside all

together in the assembly room. This is a very important day for the high school because the music is a very important part of our lives and we appreciate it so much. Alberto Cañada and Myriam Canal S2D

One book one friend. We celebrate the book day in our school the 23th of April The 23rd of April is the “book day” and we celebrate it in our high school. We do some special things in the assembly room. We prepare some funny and interesting things that in class. Last year we read pieces about books or sentences the students wrote and

some people performed a theatre play. You can do anything you want if it is related with books. This is a beautiful day because all groups go to the assembly room during all the morning and we have fun doing interesting things. Irene Toledo S2C

Do you like reading? LAS LÁGRIMAS DE SHIVA This is a book by César Mallorquí. The book has the reward "Edebé" of youthful literature. Have you read the fa-

mous books from HARRY POTTER? These fantastic books by J.K. Rowling are great and easy to read. We recommend them to you.

Dani Martín. The 7th of December in the " Recinto Ferial Luis Adaro" we went to the concert of the Spanish singer Dani Martín. On the 7th December the Spanish singer Dani Martín came to Gijón. He performed live in the “Recinto Ferial Luis Adaro”. In the concert, that started at nine o’clock, there were 4.000 people and Dani sang the songs of his last album and some songs from ‘’El Canto del Loco’’. The concert was really good and funny, but the sound was

not very good. Dani started with his song “Caminar’’ and finished with his famous song “Cero’’. In the concert the people could buy t-shirts and other stuff from Dani Martín. We wonder why there are a lot of places for playing football or basketball and any place for listening live music in our city.

Break Sports In ULaboral we move on at the break. Some students play pelota court in the break with a volleyball ball because they like this sport so much. Other students, most of them from second year of “bachillerato”, play basketball in the gym. Some students of third of ESO play with a football ball but they don’t play football! They try that the ball doesn't touch the floor. In some breaks there are tournaments and the people go to the gym to watch these matches. In the first term there were football and volleyball tournaments. In the second term there are a badminton and basketball tournaments. In the third term the people want a pelota court tournament. We’ll have to wait and see. Do you want to move on? Now, you don’t have excuses! “Do you like Sports? This is your section!”

Volleyball Tournament 2nd D crushed 1st A in the final of volleyball Championship!! Some weeks ago in the gym, the students of 2nd D won against 1st A . 2nd D celebrated it full of joy. The final was very easy for 2nd D. They played very well. The players (Alberto, Daniel, Arselina, Paula, Myriam and Jaime) didn't pardon any points. The rest of the class were cheering them up. The next tournament of badminton, 2nd D are participate in groups of two people. Last year they lost the final against 1st C. Daniel Cueli and Estela Blanco S2D

This is song from John Lennon. I like it because I think that the message that transmits is something that nobody tries to do. It’s called “Imagine”: Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brother hood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world.

Arselina González S2D

I like this song because it's the first song that I learned to play with the guitar and is also the song that I played in my first concert “The time of your life” by Greenday. I don't like so much the lyrics but the song is important for me: So take the photographs and still frames in your mind. hang it on a shelf of good health and good time. tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial. for what it's worth, it was worth all the while.

Irene Toledo S2C This song is called “Happy” and the singer is Pharrell Williams. I think this song is very positive and it says that we must be happy and smile. This is the best gift we can receive. Please, smile always because you have a very beautiful smile, don't let others wipe your smile off: Because I'm happy... Come along if you feel like a room without a roof Because I'm happy... Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth Because I'm happy... Clap along if you know what happiness is to you Because I'm happy... Clap along if you feel like that's what you want to do

Myriam Canal S2D

.

I like the song “Love me again” by John Newman very much because when I hear it I am happier. It’s my favourite song and I recommend it to everybody: I need to know now, know now can you love me again I need to know now, know now can you love me again I need to know now, know now can you love me again

Pelayo Venta S2C

“Give me love” by Ed Sheeran is an important song for me. I love this song: Give me love like her, 'cause lately I've been waking up alone. Paint spotted tear drops on my shirt, Told you I'd let them go.

“Striking” Problems. This year the students are calling a lot of strikes. The first was on 22nd, 23rd and 24th of October and the next was on 20th November. There were a lot of students fighting against the new Education Law because the students need a future and they think that the government is cutting down money on education. First and second of ESO can't go on strikes although some students did. Some people think that strikes are good for us because we fight for our

education rights but other people think that they are bad because we skip classes. We think that strikes are good and bad, it depends on the situation. They are good because we fight for our future trying to make the government change their policies. But they are also bad because we don't go to school and we learn less.
