Tell us a little about the background of your architectural practice? We are a friendly team of Chartered Architects based in London and offer outstanding creative design to effectively manage projects from concept to completion. If you hire us to design your new home or extension or loft conversion or renovation or block of flats or new development, you will have our full attention, backed by years of experience for a successful project outcome. Our unrivalled experience covers both new and existing buildings and ranges from extensions and renovations to new-build developments in urban and rural settings.

How does your customer process pan out from receiving that first enquiry? As Chartered Architects, our belief is that a great design stems from listening to our clients with the vision to translate that into a beautiful yet functional space. In the UK, getting planning permission at the first attempt is rare. Catastrophic technical errors are too common and what should be simple design tasks somehow become wildly overcomplicated. Planning consultants and Architects and non-Architects give you conflicting advice and all-too-often you are left feeling patronised or ignored by the experts you are paying. And you may discover that schedule and budget overruns are considered so standard for construction projects that nobody seems to feel it’s worth trying to prevent them. We don’t think that any of this is inevitable, still less acceptable. Instead, we believe that technical thinking and creative enthusiasm with the right blend of expertise, experience, and imagination makes a real difference in meeting the challenges of building projects

Is there a type of commission that gets you particularly excited? What we are really excited and passionate about is, unlocking the hidden potential of houses and developments, securing planning permission and delivering imaginative projects on tricky sites. We are passionate about putting you in a position where you don’t have to experience the frustrations, unnecessary expense and confusion too often associated with trying to build something in the UK. Our mission is to make certain that clients are reassured that every project, is given its full attention to detail whether this is a large new-build or a small refurbishment.

Could you encapsulate why Hamptons clients choose KLC Architects for their project? We are a team who work as a team with Hampton– we love collaborating and supporting each other. We were handpicked by Hamptons, to assist their clients. Alot of people think there’s a stark choice between working with a big firm who can do everything you need, and a small one who will look after you better but can only often have a limited range of services. What’s your favourite thing about working in the South London area? Our favourite thing about working in the South London Area is its unique great spaces and architecture. There are many hidden gems within the South London Area. We love the vibrancy and cafe culture surrounded by its Victorian townhouses, restaurants and beautiful parks. There is always something exciting about living and working in the South London Area now with even more available transport links.
