The main theatre seats approximately 1,300 people, making it one of the largest receiving house theatres outside London. The complex also contains the smaller Rhoda McGaw Theatre and a six-screen cinema. Boasting state of the art facilities, excellent acoustics and clear sight lines it has hosted first class theatre from the likes of the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre and the Peter Hall Company. This was preceded by some trial productions to allow club members to become familiar with the new technical equipment and all the other features of running a larger and more sophisticated theatre designed not only for themselves but to be available to the community. There are two theatre spaces - a main 197 seat auditorium and a smaller Noel Coward Studio that can accommodate up to 50.
