SPEED, EFFICIENCY, AND VOLUME. PROJECT AKIRA HAS ALL THAT AND MUCH MORE. LUXURY DESIGN COMES IN DIFFERENT WAYS, AND THIS PROJECT IS HERE TO PROVE IT IN THE SHAPE OF A YACHT.
The Harrison Eidsgaard studio worked closely with Omega and the engineers at the shipyard to create a layout and interior design that perfectly harmonizes with the exterior. I suggest you start packing and imagining yourself cruising in the Bahamas with this beauty because we are about to inspire you. The design was announced at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2019, and production will begin after the summer when expert welders lay the keel in the presence of an ABS surveyor at the shipyard in Oss. Available for delivery in Spring 2024, Project Akira was carefully thought of with a design made to stand out in any harbour. Frank Laupman created clean lines and perfect proportions that culminate in a contemporary and elegant look from the exterior. “We see great potential for this new model,” says Arthur Brouwer, Heesen’s CEO. “Akira is the only 57-metre, all-aluminium fast motor yacht with a Northern European pedigree available for delivery in Spring 2024. The 57-metre Aluminium design represents the perfect counterpoint to our successful 55m Steel Class and is ideal for those clients who seek speed, efficiency and volume. Now let’s talk about specifics. The 57-metre Project Akira has a lightweight aluminium structure, strict weight control and highly

efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form – a patented design devised by van Oossanen and engineered by Heesen. She will achieve the extraordinary top speed of 22 knots with relatively small engines (two MTU 16V 4000 M65L). A draft of just 2.3 metres makes this yacht an ideal platform from which to explore turquoise shallows waters. There are six cabins capable of accommodating up to twelve guests. The owner’s apartment is located forward on the main deck of the yacht, while there are four double ensuite cabins laid out below and a unique VIP cabin up on the bridge deck. You can change decks using a glass elevator. Now let’s hope 2024 comes fast so we can see lots of Akiras spreading beauty around the seas.
