Do It Right The First Time Sometimes when we hear something it sounds so obvious that we actually forget to take notice. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! There is a simple reason that when we do something we try to do it right. It saves us time, money and effort. So obvious, but how often do we end up doing something twice because we got it wrong the first time. Now I am not talking about trying something new that needs a degree of testing and analysing – I am all for Failing Forward. It’s often very difficult to Do It Right The First Time when you are on a learning curve or testing different strategies that have not been tested before. I am talking about applying a set of rules or following a blueprint that you know works so that you can achieve the best possible result in the shortest amount of time. Have you ever put together flat pack furniture? Well if you are like me you start with the mindset to do it right the first time but halfway through you start thinking you have it all worked out and you stop following the instructions. You get to the end and you realise that you have several pieces left over and you have no idea where they go! Or the doors are on the wrong way around and it all needs to be changed. You then spend another few hours fixing your mistakes because you did not DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME around. The consequences to not doing something right the first time are varying. More often than not it’s simply your time that you are wasting but in this day and age “time is money”. Often you will lose more than just time though, and it really starts to hurt when we realise that through our hasty attitude we have lost money. I am a firm believer in having mentors and following tried and tested formulas that work. Especially if you are new to something, how can you know what works? The best way to get your business up and running as quickly as possible is to follow a tried and tested formula. I experienced this myself when I started my business; I spent about three months trying different strategies with not an ounce of success until I stumbled upon The Six Figure Mentors. Every step in a process is important and often it’s the most basic steps, like entering a contact address or having the right affiliate link that loses us potential sales. Desperate For Success – No matter how urgently you need to make money you need to make sure that you have the basics in place. You need to slow yourself down just enough to do things right the first time. It will compound your problems tenfold if you rush and get things wrong.
