The Art Of Building Online Relationships Does anyone really understand the art of Building Online Relationships? And just before you think I have flipped my lid, I am not talking about online dating! I am talking about networking and communicating through chat channels, groups and various social media outlets. I am in the process of building an online business. My brand, Work with Gordon, is very important to me and I have a very clear idea of building my brand by building online relationships. The idea is that ‘followers’ build a trusting relationship with me. To do this I will need to gain their trust by providing them with great value. Building online relationships is the key to building a long term sustainable online business. Don’t get me wrong, I am in business to make money. I want to sell as many products and services as I can, but I will not sell them at the expense of damaging my brand – which puts building online relationships as its number one core principal.
Building Online Relationships If you have an online presence and have ever networked people in groups and social media outlets you will inevitably ‘meet’ people. What annoys me and gets me wondering about some people skills is that so many people just come out and try and flog you some ‘get it now’ product the minute you say hi! What happened to building online relationships? I have lost count of the number of times I have been pinged by someone who starts off asking how I am but very quickly tries to tell me to look at some ‘change my life’ product. Do people honestly think that what they are flogging me is going to be the answer to all my problems? Get real I say. What about building online relationships? Now if someone took the time to build online relationships by providing value in the form of advice or information, and did not force any specific product or service on me, I would be more inclined to look at what they were ultimately offering.
Building Online Relationships Takes Time Building Online Relationships takes time. You want to build a strong relationship with your ‘followers’ by giving great value; you want to be helpful and offer solutions to their problems. Over time you can suggest products and services that would benefit them but it should remain their choice if they want to purchase and you should continue to build that strong online relationship. Interact with Your Prospects When Building Online Relationships
It’s not all about making the sale. Interact with your prospects and build relationships. The internet has over 2 billion users and it’s so easy to build online relationships. Take time to do this right, build long term relationships by interacting with your prospects and find out what problems they have that you can provide solutions too. It takes time but slowly more and more people will take notice of you and what your brand is about. I believe that once you have created a degree of credibility with your prospects they will be far more inclined to be interested in any products you promote. Use Social Media When Building Online Relationships Millions of people worldwide stay in touch and communicate through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Companies can use social networks in their online branding to build lasting online relationships with potential clients. Different types of people will affect your business in different ways. It is important that you identify your audience and interact with those people who interest you the most. Look for conversations taking place among your prospects on social media sites and express your point of view. Be Helpful While Building Online Relationships It is so easy to be helpful. The strongest online relationships are developed when you actually help someone and don’t expect anything in return. Reach out to people who need help and they will almost certainly become a fan for life. There is no doubt people will read this and say the online game is all about numbers. For me however, I am determined to create a strong brand that is synonymous with trust and value. It’s a long term game for me and I want to look back in several years’ time, with a strong following, and say that I did it right. The Art Of Building Online Relationships is trust and providing great value! Together we can achieve more,
