Many directors of the radio are religious: a value added for the mission of Radio Maria in the world
t is after 167years after the death of Gregoruis XVI a Camaldolian , a religious returns to the chair of Peter with the election of Card. Jorge Mario Bergoglio. Therefore it does not surprise that the first Jesuit Pope might have indicated a “long 2015” dedicated for the religious(from 30th November 2014, the first Sunday of Advent, till the 2nd February 2015, the feast of the Presentation of the Lord). The Year of the Consecrated Life in some way was pre announced in the special attention the pope has for the religious

men and women, the novices, of course, in continuation with his predecessors coming from the non-religious clergy: it is noted that the young Karol Wojtyla had Carmelite aspirations and also vicinity of Joseph Ratzinger to the Benedictine world. Pope Francis hoping that “the consecrated may be the men and women who can awaken the world” affirms that “the consecrated life is prophesy”. And the importance of religious life is always present in the life and mission of Radio Maria from the very beginning: The Directors Advisor himself, Fr. Livio Fanzaga, comes from the order of Scolopi, founded by St. Joseph Calasanzio in 1597 with the educative
charism that finds a natural fulfillment in the mission the radio maria does in the whole world. The similarly can be seen also in the witness of the domenican Fr. Yuri, the director of RM Russia who in the school of St. Domenic receives the love for the study and diffusion of faith, and Fr. Roger, the national director of RM in the Republic of Congo coming from the “mediatic” world of Paolines. Among the new directors we have in Canada Fr. Augusto Menichelli of the Missionaries of the precious blood and of the “historical” orders two cofriars of the Jesuit Pope Fr. Stjepan, the director of Croatia and Fr. Mato, the director of RM Bosnia. From among the recent congregations instead we have Fr. Elias of RM Holland of the community of St.

here were two very important appointments for the pope, two most significant visits at the European Parliament (at Strasburg) and the most delicate one in Turchy. The invitation to visit the France came straight from the President of the European Union Martin Shulz. It was in 1988 in the past in the full regime of communism Pope John Paul ll visited the European Parliament, from which slowly came the sign of the fall of the wall of Berlin. It gave an important occation for Pope Francis to reiterate and encourage the members of
European Parliament not to negotiate the catholic values on which is founded the European Union. It was the 5th journey of the Pope outside Italy. The Journey to the Turchy , instead is more important and different because of the difficult situation we find there. They were three intense days in which the Pope pointed out the importance of the ecumenical and interreligious dialogue. Radio Maria has begun to create a base also in Turchy. The former secretary of Bishop Padovese (assassinated in 2010) has started studying the possi-
bilities. The idea is to begin in the diocese of Iskendrun for the millions of Christians present there of whom many comes from Syria and Iraq. We are sure, as it was always, with the help of the Virgin we will be able to arrive anywhere in the world. Daniele Trenca

shares its reality and the activities where evangelization, humanitarian aids and social support become a priority. he communication takes place more and more in mobility and therefore evangelization could not leave out to line up in these new modes. It is therefore essential to give all Radio Maria listeners throughout the world the opportunity to hear the radio through their mobile or tablet. After the Synod On Family

The important appointment in the Vatican concluded with the beatification of Pope Paul VI
he Relatio Synodi, the approved conclusive constitutional text of 62 points by the Synod fathers was published at the request of Pope Francis on 18th Oct 2014. The paper will help to continue the preparatory works for the Ordinary Synod of 2015 which will further develop the themes related to the family. The last two months of 2014 were the best period to make us find and understand how much the themes introduced and faced by the synod influenced our congregations and communities to have a concrete and open vision of how the families of today live out the faith. The Gospel of the family is the Goodnews of Divine Love announced to all who lives the fundamental human experience personal, of couples and of communion opened towards the gift of children which is the union of family. In this perspective
the post synodal echo follow and encourage us to continue on this path together. In Rome in a roundtable discussion on “ the hope of the Family – the synod and after” Mons. Livio Melina, the president of the pontifical institute of John Paul II for the studies on Marriage and Family, reminded a concept of Bl. Paul VI: “the church does not invent her doctrine, but interprets and guarantees”. To all who request to rediscover the foundations of faith until it adapts to our timeused to saythe church cannot but respond: the future is ours in the measure in which we are capable of reading profound the Christian vocation”. In Croatia, the imperative for the Plenary Assembly of the Bishops gathered in Zagabria, was “to restart from the family”, to find
the new pastoral priorities and to pay attention to such theories. The assembly concluded with a document titled “man and woman he created”, inorder to safeguard the faithful from the dangerous types of ideologies that arouse discussions on the natural origins of sexuality, disassociating the biological sex from one’s cultural dimension. In the first week of November, in Dakar, in Senegal there was a congress of the regional union of the priests of East Africa. The meeting took up the theme “the family as a challenge of interreligious dialogue” from the pastoral point of view. From all these indications that determine the orientation of the pastoral actions in some countries, on the occasion of the audience of the Pope with the catho-
lic movement of schonstatt, he affirmed that, “the Christian family, the family, the marriage, has never been attacked as being done today, attacked directly and indirectly”. And it is in this direction the great family of the Radio Maria in the world in addition to the transmissions on the teachings on family as indicated by the Magisterium intends at the same time to sustain the families that live in crisis, irregularity or far from the church. We want to walk together (this is the meaning of the word synod) in the coming months till the 4th October 2015, the months in which the synod fathers will enquire once again to give us the pastoral indications necessary to offer a more useful help for the families in their march towards sanctity. The continuous development of RM in the world

The latest of the project of Radio Maria in the five continents
he Holy Father reminds us continuously that the church cannot but be “getting out” otherwise will be sick, renewing also recently he invited “to put ourselves on the way towards many of the geographical and existential peripheries”. The mission in fact is a constitutive dimension of the church (of all the baptized) that from the beginning of the day of Pentecost is characterized as the church “getting out”. From the 12 apostles gathered in the cenacle (under the guidance of Mary at prayer) till the extreme end of the earth: The history of the church is a history of Mission, in obedience to the command of the Jesus to take the Gospel to all the people. From the middle East to Rome , from Rome to the world,
towards the evangelization of Europe, the geographical discoveries, the missions in Africa and in Asia, the new evangelization of the spiritual deserts of the contemporary world. And from the beginning the Radio Maria is a Radio that is “getting out” anxious to take the proclamation of conversion, of joy and peace where ever be a listener, from Erba to the 5 continents, without forgetting the religious minorities, linguistic minorities, overcoming even the absence of frequencies thanks to the new possibilities offered by the web to come up 70 transmitters. “And we are only at the beginning” as the Director’s Adviser Fr. Livio Fanzaga and the president Emanuele Ferrario often repeats.
The latest inauguration of RM was that of the Republic Democratic of Congo in the capital Kinshasa on the 31st October 2014. It was RM India on 30th June 2013 (very significant for the Asian Continent) that we opened before. New calls for and new foundations are coming up, thanks to the faithful laity, priests and bishops who request RM in their country knowing the efficaciousness of evangelization of this precious tool with the particular characteristic of the filial devotion to the Virgin Mother and complete fidelity to the Pope and to the Pastors. In the coming months we hope for three new inaugurations: RM is ready to start in Guinea Equatoriale, in Central African Republic and Madagascar. Also there are 3 new openings in the ancient continent in Macedonia, Ireland and Lettonia. In the places where
we are already present we search to extend the coverage until we can reach a major number of listeners. The dynamism of the WF does not stop here, as in many new places we are at work to carry forward the hope where there are difficulties like war and poverty. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (Rm 8, 35) Even when the situations that make us to halt temporarily for lack of means or other difficulties, we do not remain idle but confiding ourselves to the more potent instruments: the prayers, sacrifices and in the filial and indestructible faith in the divine providence that has made us to be humble instrument of this great Marian missionary Project.
