BEST-KEPT SECRET FOR SPA SUCCESS

Aremarkable story invented in Belgium that not only focusses on creating highquality, effective products and treatments but also the success of their partners. Their international commission system that was created to benefit there partners is the best-kept secret to growth and success.

Craith Lab is an award-winning epigenetic clean skincare brand. With more than 300 worldwide partnerships with beauty salons, hotels and spas they want to make healthy and strong skin possible for everyone. Made in Germany and invented in Belgium, they offer a bespoke menu of resultdriven facial treatments and at-home products. They only include ingredients of the highest qualities and combine them with the best delivery systems

to enhance the effectiveness of their formulas. They are a leading force when it comes to vegan ingredients, introducing powerful vegan type I and III collagens. Luxury feel packaging reflects what they stand for: quality products that not only look good but use an airless pump system so there is no product left behind in the bottle. By promoting the skin’s overall healthy using epigenetics, probiotics and vegan collagens, they are able to treat the underlying skin concern rather than merely addressing the symptoms. Prioritizing expertise, they offer their partners top-tier training through the Craith Lab Academy to achieve the best results.

“At Craith Lab, we go beyond results-driven treatments. We promote a holistic approach to

skincare that includes lifestyle factors such as diet, hydration and overall wellness and changing the way our skin ages forever,” says CEO Peter Smeets. “With Craith Lab we wanted to focus on healthier skin, but also growing the success of our partners. We created an international commission system in which we make it possible for hotels and spas to connect with their client during their visit, but continue this connection when they go back home. This way they can maintain the profit of the connection they have built.”

Reflecting on the past year, 2024 has been a period of significant growth and innovation within our industry. Healthy competition and an unwavering commitment to excellence have driven us to new heights, further enhancing the level of service and quality that define luxury hospitality.

In response to increasing demand and growing global interest in celebrating the best of luxury hospitality, we are proud to be hosting two events for our 18th annual gala celebration –

at AYANA BALI in Indonesia and GALGORM in Northern Ireland. This expansion marks an important milestone, allowing us to honor exceptional contributions across different regions and venues.

Looking to the future, we are excited to continue this momentum as we continue to source and provide desirable destinations to host our events, ensuring that excellence in luxury hospitality is celebrated consistently and inclusively worldwide.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all attendees for joining us at these prestigious events. Our deepest appreciation goes to everyone whose efforts have made these gatherings possible. Here’s to a year of continued excellence and enduring success.

Welcome to our annual awards ceremony. To all our winners, congratulations on this fantastic achievement!

We are excited to host two events this year, providing our participants with a choice of destination and ensuring that all our clients have the opportunity to attend. Additionally, offering two venues allows our clients the option of a shorter flight.

The World Luxury Awards will continue to provide you with high-quality marketing materials to give you a competitive edge and showcase your property in the best possible light. We successfully launched our new look website with a few added features and online profile improvements; more than 700,000 votes

were cast in the voting season on the new platform this year.

We are pleased to introduce a new award exclusively for properties that have entered their hotel, spa, and restaurant. The Hospitality Excellence Award, as it will be called, will be presented for the first time this year, and we are confident it will become a highly soughtafter accolade.

To all our sponsors and specifically France 24, thank you so much for the support that you have given us for so many years. A huge thank you to AYANA Bali, Indonesia and Galgorm, Northern Ireland, for hosting our Gala ceremonies, without you these events would not be possible.

The idea was ignited when respected hotelier, Brandon Lourens, wanted to enter some of the hotels in his hotel management portfolio in an awards program but could not find a luxury awards program which operated in the hotel sector. The idea was brainstormed with his management team and the company was founded.

With its original head-office in Stellenbosch, South Africa, the company proved to fill a void for a bespoke luxury hotel awards company which brought distinction to that segment of the market.

inSPArations, a monthly spa magazine featuring all spa participants was launched.

A new updated website is launched with a modern fresh streamlined design.

Two Gala Ceremonies are hosted at Ayana Resort Bali, Indonesia, and Galgorm, Northern Ireland.

The Hospitality Excellence Award is launched.

“Since

CHLOE ROBB

Associate Director Resort Operations

Tell us where you are from – where did you grow up and how did you end up at Galgorm?

I was born and bred in Northern Ireland and grew up in a small coastal town, just outside of Belfast, called Holywood.

I began working in the hospitality industry at the age of 12 (we started young) and while working in some of the best restaurants in Belfast, I worked alongside Galgorm Collection’s Managing Director, Colin Johnston. I swopped the city for the country to join his Galgorm team in 2010!

What's your favorite part about working in resort management, and why?

It’s certainly never boring, no two days are ever the same and the challenges that come with managing such an expansive property and a large team keep the role fresh!

I think the satisfaction of problem-solving operational issues and having to think on your feet is suited to my personality, and I really enjoy the mentoring aspect of the role while working alongside my team to achieve the high standards we set ourselves.

How does your resort prioritize sustainability and eco-friendliness in its day to day operations?

We involve every member of the team in our efforts, which gives everyone a sense of purpose and responsibility.

I am lucky to work with like-minded individuals who

believe that we have a collective responsibility for the impact we have on our surroundings, and we work hard to educate our teams on the importance of sustainability and what that means for the generations to come.

We believe that education and a willingness to “get stuck in”, as they say in Northern Ireland, is the key to achieving our goal to be carbon neutral in 2030. So, whether it’s shouldering your shovel for a day of tree planting at the Resort, or litter picking along our beautiful coastline with the team at the Old Inn, Crawfordsburn, we all help out.

Our Environmental Committee is the driving force that keeps sustainability and eco-friendliness at the heart of our day-to-day operations and they value suggestions from each and every team member on how we can better our current procedures; sometimes the most innovative ideas come from our most junior team members!

Can you share any community outreach or charitable initiatives that your resort is involved in?

Galgorm has been a long-standing partner of the Cullybackey Improvement Association, collaborating to facilitate community initiatives, including opening up access to the surrounding countryside through dedicated paths and walkways around The Resort.

It has been our privilege to work alongside the Simon Community for several years as they lead the fight in tackling homelessness in Northern Ireland, and we do everything we can to support them in their efforts. Our marathon runners, both individuals and relay teams, are out in force each year to run the Belfast Marathon, the funds of which go to our chosen charities. (While I do not run myself, I have the very important role of cheering them all across the finish line!)

The Northern Ireland Community Rescue Service and the vital work they do for our communities is nothing short of inspiring, and we are also proud to list them as one of our chosen charities.

We work closely with over 20 local societies and clubs with our focus being on making meaningful contributions which reflect our core values and help provide a brighter future for all.

What top advice do you share with your staff to prepare them and assist them in advance for the hosting of the World Luxury Awards Gala Ceremony?

Hospitality is about Personality. Be yourself!

Guests love the unique and human experience of interacting with our team members, and I feel that our genuine welcome is something which really sets us apart as a team; we have an opportunity to showcase Irish hospitality to our World Luxury Awards Gala guests from around the world, and we plan to make the most of it!

DAVID GILMORE

Tell us where you are from – where did you grow up and how did you end up at Galgorm?

I was born in Birkenhead, England, but my family moved to North Wales when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I went to Holywell High School and then moved away when I was 18 and lived in different areas in England. Chester and its surrounding area’s is where I spent most of my time before moving to Northern Ireland. My Wife Rachel is from Northern Ireland and we moved here in 2013 after we got married. I started working at Galgorm in September 2021.

What sparked your passion for cooking, and how did you develop your culinary style?

I always enjoyed cooking in school and grew up eating traditional home cooked meals. My Grandmother would always have cooked family meals and made Christmas cakes, so watching someone cook was there from a young age.

As a teenager when I decided that it could be a career option, Gary Rhodes was prominent on the T.V. and was someone I admired. After completing my GCSE’s I started an apprenticeship working at a local Holiday Inn. My first Head Chef Anthony Griffiths was very key in keeping me interested, we were cooking very simple food but made everything ourselves.

Once he decided to leave where we were working, I had an opportunity to leave also and moved to work at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel, which was an iconic 5 star hotel in the area with a Michelin Starred Restaurant, so I went and finished my apprenticeship there and then worked at the hotel for around 8 years over 2 periods working my

way from Apprentice to Senior Sous Chef. The food was based on classical French techniques.

I also worked for a chef called John Campbell in the early 2000’s which taught me a completely different way of cooking and organizational skills which I would say is one of my strengths today. The food was cooked using a lot more scientific techniques and questioning ourselves and asking why we were doing it that way, everything had to have a reason for doing it.

Who are your culinary heroes, and what have you learned from them?

The chefs I have worked with and for I would say are the people I would class as Culinary heroes. As a chef you spend so much time with these people the affect they have on you as a person and the direction your life can go because of it. The chef I have become is a collection of things taken from all of them.

Specifically Simon Radley, John Campbell and Nathan Outlaw have had a great influence on me.

Can you share a memorable moment or dish that defined your career?

I’m going to say something that might not seem particularly memorable from the outside but has stayed in my mind throughout my career. After I had moved my apprenticeship to The Chester Grosvenor, the standard and expectations was a massive jump, where everything had to be exact 100% of the time and as a young chef, it was a struggle and there were days when you were not sure you could maintain the standard. One particularly difficult day, I overheard he executive chef and another senior chef, discussing how well I was getting on, it literally changed my outlook and pushed me to keep going and get better.

Overhearing that conversation has made me make deliberate choices throughout my career, on the benefits of positive feedback and taking the time for people, and realising the affect that you can have on the direction and productivity of an individual.

How does it feel to be recognized with awards and accolades, such as the World Luxury Restaurant Awards?

It’s always nice to be recognised for what you do day to day and to see all departments of the hotel being rewarded for the hard work that goes into it.

One particularly difficult day, I overheard he executive chef and another senior chef, discussing how well I was getting on, it literally changed my outlook and pushed me to keep going and get better.

TARA MOORE Head of

Spa Operations

Tell us where you are from –where did you grow up and how did you end up at Galgorm?

I was born in Antrim and moved to Ballymena when I was 10. My career began as a Dental Nurse, where I developed a strong foundation in patient care. Afterward, I spent 16 years as a Flight Supervisor, gaining extensive experience in customer service and team management. Following this, I transitioned to the spa industry, starting as a Guest Liaison, where I primarily served as a guest host. Over the past 12 years, I have held various positions within the spa, steadily advancing through management roles. Today, I am the Group Head of Spa Operations, where I oversee the overall management and strategic direction of the spa, ensuring exceptional service and operational excellence.

What ignited your passion in the wellness industry?

My passion for the wellness

industry grew significantly during my time as a Cabin Crew member, where I studied Beauty Therapy. This sparked my interest in skincare and holistic wellness, complementing my profes-sional experience in customer service. However, it was when I joined the spa as a Guest Liaison that my enthusiasm truly flourished. This role allowed me to immerse myself fully in the wellness environment, interacting closely with guests and seeing firsthand the transformative impact of spa treatments. It was here that I found a deeper connection to the industry, solidifying my commitment to promoting wellbeing and excellence in spa services.

What trends are you seeing in the spa and wellness industry, and how is your spa adapting?

The spa and wellness industry is seeing a rise in demand for customised treatments and a strong focus on mental health, as guests seek personalised and holistic care. Sustainable

practices are also crucial, with guests interested in eco-friendly operations and ethically sourced products. Technology integration, such as LED lights and plasma treatments, is enhancing traditional services which is why we introduced the I-Dome and soon to be Satori relaxation beds, along with Cryo and Biotec Facials. While the element of human touch experienced through hands-on treatments will always be inimitable, combining this with the capabilities of wellness technology offers the guest an unparalleled spa experience. Additionally, there's a growing trend towards staycations, where guests prioritise wellness experiences that can be enjoyed with family and friends, making the spa a hub for relaxation and connection.

How do you create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for guests?

I have always been of the belief that it is our staff that truly make a difference by offering a warm welcome as soon as guests walk through the door. We prioritise treating our guests like family, ensuring they feel cared for and have everything they need for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. This personal touch is a core part of our service philosophy.

What's your favorite spa treatment, and why?

My favourite treatment is a mix of a back massage and then a facial, a therapists hands can work magic and especially around my shoulders, I then want to end with a relaxing Biotec Facial - at my age I need all the help I can get!

If you could tell every person to do one important thing for their wellness every single day, what would it be?

Choose one thing a day that makes you happy and prioritise it. Whether that’s walking, reading, having a bath or spending time with friends, time goes by so quickly and it is important to stop and look around you.

Northern Ireland: A Giant Embrace of Luxury

Effortlessly bringing together rich history, rugged landscapes and contemporary elegance, Northern Ireland is quickly emerging as a leading luxury travel destination. Peppered with tranquil retreats and ancient castles, vibrant cities and culinary gems, Northern Ireland offers the discerning traveller an experience steeped in timeless luxury.

For those in search of dramatic, elemental beauty, Northern Ireland stands unrivalled as home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites — the legendary Giant’s Causeway and the historic town of Gracehill. History enthusiasts will get the royal treatment at Hillsborough Castle, the official residence of the Royal Family in Northern Ireland, with its majestic gardens and regal interiors.

While fans of the epic Game of Thrones series can step into the world of Westeros with a visit to iconic filming locations or a Game of Thrones Studio Tour.

Golfers take note - as the host of the prestigious Irish Open in 2024 and the eagerly awaited 153rd Open Championship in 2025, Northern Ireland is soon to be the epicentre of the golfing world. Among its most prized courses are Royal County Down and Royal Portrush, both ranked among the top ten courses worldwide by Golf Digest. From coastal fairways to lush parklands, every round is an opportunity to connect with the natural beauty of the land.

Northern Ireland’s food scene is piquing the interest of international food critics with its growing number of Michelin-starred and Bib Gourmand restaurants. In Belfast, The Muddlers Club and OX offer refined dishes curated with the best local ingredients, each awarded a Michelin star for their exceptional quality. Outside of Belfast, pearls like Wine and Brine in Moira and Noble in Holywood are both Bib Gourmand recipients, offering a similarly outstanding dining experience.

Meanwhile, those seeking something more intimate and unique can indulge in private dining at Northern Ireland’s majestic castles. Centuries of rich history at Glenarm Castle or Quintin Castle provide a dramatic backdrop to an unforgettable meal. Another private, tailored experience is the Whiskey on the Rocks tasting at the Giant’s Causeway, where visitors are invited to savour fine whiskey while taking in one of the world’s most stunning coastlines.

Accommodation in Northern Ireland is synonymous with luxury, offering everything from stately country manors, alive with history and heritage, to elegant city hotels perfect for intimate and exclusive stays. A Giant Welcome Awaits

, Secret Dining Experience by Paul Cunningham

Chef Paul Cunningham’s Secret Dining Experience is a culinary delight like no other. Prepare to enjoy local rich, delicious and natural foods and flavours. Your experience begins with intrigue and mystery as your destination is unknown. Armed only with the knowledge of a meeting point, you’ll arrive to be whisked away to the secret dining location. It’ll perhaps be a rural cottage, a disused barn, a candlelit teepee or something different altogether.

Hillsborough Castle & Gardens

Hillsborough Castle is the King’s official Northern Ireland residence, and the site of some of the region’s biggest discussions and decisions; past, present and future. History aside, this is a working royal residence which has hosted members of the Royal Family as a ceremonial and personal base since 1922. Private tours and dining options are available where you follow in the footsteps of world leaders, through plush and lovingly restored State Rooms.

Whiskey on the Rocks

This is a truly unique, and intimate, way to experience the worldfamous Giant’s Causeway, and to savour the world-famous whiskey distilled just a couple of miles away. Your guide brings this ancient place to life, sharing geological facts, history, local myths and legends about home-grown giant Finn McCool, and afterwards, you’ll sit on rocks as a 12-Year-Old Bushmills Distillery Reserve is poured. You’re in for a treat: the whiskey you’ll be enjoying is exclusively available for purchase from the Distillery, and cannot be bought online. And, as an extra luxurious touch, you’ll be drinking from whiskey glasses made bespoke for this experience.

Muddlers Club

Awarded a one star in the Michelin Guide for Great Britain & Ireland 2023, The Muddlers Club which opened in late October 2015, has picked up several accredited awards and is fast establishing itself as a top culinary experience. Head chef and owner Gareth McCaughey handpicks the best of home grown produce daily to ensure the quality of each dish served, and the open kitchen provides a sense of theatre, allowing diners to watch as ingredients are transformed into something exquisite.

Hinch Distillery

A tour at Hinch Distillery is not just an exploration of history, production and their bold range of triple distilled whiskeys; it’s an invitation to sit and learn from the characters that bring it to life through an immersive sensory journey. You’ll find this impressive distillery in the heart of County Down, nestled among the drumlins, not too far from the Mournes. Drawing its water from the beautiful Silent Valley, and sourcing local grain, here’s a whiskey that’s made from the essence of nature around it.

Crindle Bespoke

Immerse yourself in the rugged landscapes of Northern Ireland as you ride horseback through stunning scenery. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or trying it for the first time, qualified guides will ensure you have a comfortable experience with friendly horses. Enjoy exclusive treks along pristine beaches, through picturesque countryside, or within a private estate. Enhance your adventure with bespoke additions like a romantic bohemian picnic, wild dining, or afternoon tea.

Welcome to Mid & East Antrim, a land Shaped by Sea and Stone, where breathtaking landscapes meet rich history and culture.

Located less than half an hour from Belfast and stretching from the banks of the River Bann in Portglenone to the East Antrim coast where the might of the Irish Sea comes face to face with a medley of cliff and coast, our region is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking adventure, relaxation, and memorable experiences.

On the Global stage, our area is known for several things; The Causeway Coastal Route, The Gobbins Cliff Path, Carrickfergus Castle, and - last but not leastGame of Thrones: a great deal of the beloved HBO show was shot in our area. Add the historic towns of Ballymena, Carrickfergus, and Larne, and it is clear: Mid & East Antrim has something for everyone.

Mid and East Antrim: A Land Shaped by Sea and Stone

If you're seeking adventure and natural beauty, Mid & East Antrim is the perfect destination. The Causeway Coastal Route, known as one of the most scenic drives in the world, runs through our region and offers breathtaking views of rugged coastline, rolling hills, and quaint seaside towns. From Carrickfergus along the Coast Road on to the villages of Glenarm and Carnlough and beyond, the Causeway Coastal Route is a must visit for anyone coming to Northern Ireland.

Aside from the scenery there is much to discover, whatever your area of interest. At the start of the Causeway Coastal Route lies Carrickfergus Castle, a Norman Castle teeming with 800 years of history, and unlike most other castles in the area, this one is still alive and kicking, and ready to be explored. Beyond - but not far from - the castle, on the Islandmagee peninsula, lies The Gobbins Cliff Path. The Gobbinsa cliff face walk once termed ‘The

most dramatic coastal walk in Europe’- is fast becoming one of Northern Ireland’s premier visitor attractions, welcoming almost 40,000 people last year from 19 different countries and is a truly unique experience. The brainchild of engineering titan Berkeley Deane Wise, the Gobbins Cliff Path is a 3km long walkway consisting of a series of pathways, bridges, and tunnels, carved into the East Antrim Coast.

If it is more history visitors are after Mid and East Antrim delivers in abundance, a visit to one of our Presidential Cottages is a perfect way for the history buffs to spend a few hours.

Arthur Cottage in Cullybackey is the ancestral home of Chester Alan Arthur, the 21st President

of the United States of America, whilst further east in the borough sits Andrew Jackson Cottage and US Rangers Museum. The homestead of Andrew Jackson, the 7th President of the United States of America. Here you will also find the US Rangers Museum, dedicated to the elite American army regiment formed at

Further up the coast in Whitehead there is no better way to explore the Blackhead Path and Lighthouse than by bike. Head to Whitehead Community Association and rent an e-bike and hit the open road (or path!). Whilst in Whitehead it is a must to visit Whitehead Railway Museum and visit the giants of steam.

Lastly, back in land, lies the hugely significant Slemish Mountain. Slemish is famed as the first Irish home of Saint Patrick, where he was said to have been brought as a slave to tend to the land at Slemish. Here he

Sunnylands Camp in Carrickfergus in June 1942. This ‘Commando style’ unit was made up solely of volunteers. Nicknamed ‘Darby’s Rangers’ after their dynamic leader Lieutenant Colonel William Darby, they trained in extreme conditions and fought in some of the deadliest battles in Europe to become one of WWII’s most courageous and decorated units. It remains the only US military unit ever founded on foreign soil.

On the experience front we have much to offer. Head to Carnlough for a coastal tour the right wayon the sea- with Carnlough Bay Boat tours. End the tour with a visit to the Arkle Whiskey bar in the Londonderry Arms and experience their whiskey offerings. The bar- named after the famous racehorse- has an array of Bushmills whiskeys on offer, some of which even Bushmills don’t have!

tended sheep and, in his isolation, turned to frequent prayer, and so began a journey that would see Saint Patrick become one of - if not the most - well known Saint in the world.

For those seeking a more relaxed pace, Mid & East Antrim is home to a variety of world-class spas, as well as excellent food and drinks offerings. The worldclass Galgorm resort and spa is celebrated far and wide as one of

LONDON DISTILLED

MAKING OF TROPHIES

Each year the World Luxury Awards offers our prestigious winners an opportunity to order our range of exclusive merchandise. Our trophies are handcrafted in Cape Town, South Africa, and distributed globally.

We offer a range of trophies, miniature trophies and plaques for each division that form part of the World Luxury Awards.

Our World Luxury Hotel Awards Trophy is a solid bronze trophy with polished brass details on a Beachwood base. This trophy was designed in collaboration with a local art foundry namely,

Sculpture Casting Services, a highly specialized foundry, casting from the smallest to the largest sculptures ever cast in Africa. The family business was founded in the 90's by Robert Knight, who was later joined by his two brothers Warren Knight and Bruce Knight. The foundry has grown from small beginnings to one of the largest fine-art foundries in Africa.

The team at Sculpture Casting Services also formed part of the team that worked on the statue of Nelson Mandela, a large bronze sculpture of the former President of South Africa, located in Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton, South Africa.

A traditional casting method for fine art bronze sculpture - "Lost Wax Casting" - is preferred, where the sculpture is first made from wax and then encased with sillicone rubber and resin jacket. Once the mould is made, the wax model is melted and drained away and molten bronze is poured into the mould.

The beautiful Beachwood bases are made by spinning wood on a lathe and carving gently into it, as soon as the artisan feels he has reached the shaped he requires, the wooden bases are then sanded and oiled by hand to give a smooth luxurious feel to the surface wood that will last for many years to come. A local brass-smith and master sculptor, Leslie Adonis and his small team then put all the finishing touches on our hotel trophies by hand as well as manufacture the spa, restaurant and travel trophies.

Our spa, restaurant and travel trophies are made by means of a Chemical Etching Process which allows

metal parts to be produced without any structural defects by using computer-aided design software, along with photography and chemistry.

Prior to chemical etching, the brass is cut to size and cleaned. A photosensitive material is then applied and once it is coated, the sheet is put into an exposure unit and exposed to UV light.

Thereafter the trophies are polished and meticulously assembled. Each trophy is also refined with a personalised engraving, showcasing each establishment's name and category won. Every trophy goes through our inspection process and is then delivered directly to your property.

We have recently also released a range of miniature trophies which we feel is a well-received addition to our range of merchandise.

In 2023 a new modern trophy option was added to our range of exclusive winner merchandise. These new trophies have each iconic trophy design engraved into crystal glass, using sub-surface laser technology.

Sub-surface laser engraving works by using a very strong local temperature gradient to treat the specific point in the crystal glass with thermal stress, which results in a small fracture (bubble) at the point of precision.

Once many of these small fractures are combined it creates an image. For the laser beam to create micro fractures within the material, in this case glass, it must possess an essential property: very high optical transparency. This is why our new set of trophies are made from crystal glass.

CHAIRMAN'S

LINDA COOPER

Creative

I was born in Durban, South Africa, after high school I studied Food&Nutrition for 4 years. In my final year I was lucky to experience 4 days working as a stewardess on the QE2 from Durban via Cape Town to Namibia. On completing my studies I went to Germany where I worked for 3 years in a castle on Lake Constance, during that time I travelled around Europe and went to the USA a few times. My role at the castle was diverse; I was a chef for the restaurant, worked at the high-end

disco on weekends and helped in all areas since it was also a function venue.

I settled in London in 1995; with my food-related qualifications not being recognised, rather than mopping floors at Greater Ormond St. Hospital or prepping pizza’s at the London Zoo, I opted for office work which was far more rewarding, especially my last role at Marks & Spencer as a Management Secretary. I met and married a South African while in London, in 2001 we returned to Cape Town where I helped him start up an internet service providing company. We divorced in 2009 and I found myself starting out again in the work force with a 5 and a 2-year old, it was challenging, however I became a Senior Business Developer at Toshiba, selling photocopiers – not my dream role, but it certainly helped pay the bills!

In 2015 I had a chance meeting with Brandon Lourens who decided I would be the perfect person to help him launch the World Luxury Restaurant

Awards. I have had an amazing journey with World Luxury Awards, many of the skills I have acquired since leaving formal education were self-taught –anything is possible if you are keen enough to learn and have a desire to achieve something.

I am extremely blessed to have met a wonderful man who loves to travel, we were engaged in Hawaii this year and will be returning next year to explore more. I am keen to see more of Asia having only been to Vietnam so far, Bali was on my list as is Thailand – mostly for their food! I have always wanted to visit New Zealand, Egypt and Brazil and although I have been to Australia, it is so vast, I would hope to return.

I have the option to live in the UK or the USA with close family living there, but when it comes to the best place in the world to live, hands down for so many reasons, it remains Cape Town, South Africa. If you have read this far and have never been, I hope that you will take my advice and come to experience it yourself!
