Salomondrin

Shmee150

Alejandro Salomon, or “Salomondrin” as he is known on social media, has taken his love for cars, his camera, his expertise, and some of his finances and has made the newest and hottest YouTube channel about cars, more specifically, super cars. Of course this sort of thing has been done before, but not quite like this approach. His very vibrant, mischievous, boyish, but warm-hearted personality, group of loyal friends, impressive super car collection, and his film production company, are only the beginning..

Cars: McLaren 675LT, Ferrari FF, Porsche Cayman GT4. Tim Burton – no, not the guy that directed Willy Wonka – has a car collection that will make you salivate, having made his money from starting, running and then selling an online retail business just after he finished his A-levels. @shmee150

The Smoking Tire The baby of automotive commenter and journalist Matt Farah, the Smoking Tire isn’t updated as frequently as other channels, but each video is gearhead gold. Farah seems to have a particular talent for acquiring the newest, fastest automobiles, and his commentary is the most entertaining found on any automotive channel. @thesmokingtire

MrJWW Cars: Porsche 911 GT3, Range Rover, Ferrari F12 The impeccably groomed MrJWW is definitely the most dapper of the new generation of vloggers, while the blog on his website proves that he can write about the supercar ownership experience just as well as he can talk about it. @MrJWW 178k Followers 49k Followers 24.7k Followers 305k Subscribers

Supercars of London Cars: Mercedes AMG GT S With a massive grin and chirpy presenting style that makes him look as though he’s consumed too much sugar, Paul Wallace aka Supercars of London began his vlogging career by making a video of some Aston Martins back in 2006. Since then, he's used his YouTube fame to launch his own SOL clothing brand. @SupercarsofLDN

Motor Trend

7

You’ve probably already heard of Motor Trend. This publication released its first issue in September of 1949 and has been a mainstay of American automotive journalism ever since. While most big magazines haven’t had much success with video content, and Motor Trend’s own channel used to be rather dull, a recent push to provide more and better content has turned this into one of YouTube’s best channels in any category. Of particular note are the Head2Head battles, which end with on-track commentary by Randy Pobst, a championship racing driver who also provides clear insight into how cars handle when pushed to their limits. www.motortrendondemand.com 617k Followers 2.49m Followers 669k Followers 5.4m Subscribers

The Fast Lane Car Contrary to this channel’s name, The Fast Lane Car doesn’t focus on fast cars, though a fair number do appear in reviews and features. Instead it serves up a nice a mix of reviews that covers almost every category, from serious off-road 4x4s to economy cars. This is a particularly good channel to look at if you’re thinking about buying a new car soon because the reviews are timely and the reviewers don’t hesitate to say which car they prefer, and why. www.tflcar.com

Seb Delanney Cars: The current lineup of cars in Sebastien’s garage includes an unique combination of vehicles. From a classic Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS lent to Seb by its American owners, known as ‘ItsWhiteNoise’ to a black all-around electric vehicle – the TWIZY – and a matte black Lotus Elise Club Racer. Seb Delanney is just a 20-year-old YouTube influencer that drives a Lotus and Renault Twizy. Seb films & edits videos put on his YouTube channel and shared across a fast growing social network with an international audience..

Everyday Driver Want a sports car, but not sure which one to buy? Then Everyday Driver is for you. Much like The Fast Lane Car, this channel’s name is actually deceptive, because it has little to do with what most of us would consider “everyday driving.” Instead the focus is on indepth comparisons and reviews of various sports cars driven by the hosts, Todd Deeken and Paul Schmucker. This pair is key to the channel’s success because the two rarely agree on what car is best, and the contrast between their opinions can say a lot about a car’s performance. www.everydaydriver.com

Drive This very active channel, which updates every day of the week except for Saturday, hosts a variety of segments. Most of them are focused on racing, tuning, and modifying rather than reviews or comparisons, which gives the channel a unique tone. The must-see content here is Chris Harris On Cars, an entertaining segment hosted by, of course, Chris Harris, an automotive journalist best known for outing how Ferrari manipulates reviews. His honest, clear impressions of the cars he drives are the next best thing to being in the driver’s seat. @drive_tv

Evo TV Evo Magazine is essentially the Motor Trend of Europe and is well known for its focus on the world’s most exotic and powerful cars. This is the place to go if you want an in-depth review of the latest Ferrari or Porsche, and it’s also the place to go if you want to watch comparisons of exotic automobiles. Besides the cars themselves, Evo TV is notable because of its extremely sharp camera work; this channel looks fantastic in 1080p and is nearly on par with the production quality of BBC’s Top Gear.

Jay Leno’s Garage Leno has in his possession not only a monstrous chin but also a massive collection of cars that includes some of the rarest and most exotic cars in the world. His YouTube channel, though hardly the place to turn for journalism, highlights these cars with reasonably entertaining commentary and clear highdefinition footage. This is the channel to visit if you just want to stare slack-jawed at beautiful machinery. www.jaylenosgarage.com

Fifth Gear Fifth Gear has lived in the shadow of Top Gear for the last decade, which is ironic, because Fifth Gear was started after the original Top Gear series was nearly cancelled (a pitch to re-format Top Gear into its current incarnation was the only thing that saved it). Still, Fifth Gear is one of the more entertaining car shows on TV and, unlike Top Gear, it regularly uploads segments to YouTube. The series is a blend of informative journalism and humorous stunts that should satisfy car enthusiasts who don’t have access to BBC programming over cable. fifthgear.tv

Yet another British publication, Autocar competes directly with Evo, which means it focuses on high-end sports cars and supercars. The channel is a bit more playful, however, as it performs unusual comparisons you won’t find on Evo, and there’s a rather humorous “will it drift” series that includes UK taxis and hearses among its lineup. Though this channel probably isn’t as exciting as Evo TV overall, it’s worth a look if you’re into exotic car comparisons and reviews. www.autocar.co.uk

Consumer Reports While technically not a publication that focuses on cars exclusively, a large number of this channel’s videos are reviews or comparisons of recently released autos. Consumer Reports, best known for its reliability reports, also conducts full road tests as extensive as anything produced by enthusiast magazines. They provide a balanced, no-nonsense look at the latest cars and automotive trends, which makes them a good place to turn to if you want to watch brief reviews of recently released models. www.consumerreports.org

Petrolicious Somewhere in L.A., in a magical part of the city where it's always sunrise or sunset, sits the headquarters of Petrolicious.com, a digital shrine to achingly beautiful vintage machinery. While true gearheads can peruse the site for in-depth interviews with people who seemingly own every air-cooled 911 and gated-shifter Ferrari in existence, the Instagram feed is good for a quick hit to hold you over. Oh, and for added value, follow Petrolicious editor Ted Gushue, who's as handy with a Leica as he is blessed to drive so much of this historic metal. @petrolicious 368k Followers

Classic Car Club Manhattan Inside an old police horse stable on the western edge of Manhattan hides a fleet of cars that you—yes, you—can drive...if you can spare the four-to-five-figure annual fee to join the Classic Car Club. It's a toy box of dreams that includes a neon-green Lamborghini, a Ford GT in the historic blue-and-orange Gulf racing livery, a 550 Spyder just like James Dean's :(, a vintage BMW 2002, a slammed Chevy C10, and on, and on. If you're short on the entry fee, living vicariously through CCC's Instagram will help with the hurt. @cccmanhattan 24k Followers

Huseyin Erturk Erturk shoots cars as if they're animals in the wild, like they don't even know he's there, and they're just going through their daily motions in a sun-drenched, slightly faded urban jungle. Sure, he's a professional, and they're probably staged and timed and planned to the millimeter, but it's nice to imagine all these stunning Jaguar XKEs and Ferrari 308s and Porsche 911s out living in the world, prowling the streets. @huseyinerturk

Scott Brown So much American metal from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, desaturated into a hazy, but not golden, nostalgia. Some of Browns shots paint a portrait of small-town America, where slightly rusty Gran Torinos and just-waxed AMC Javelins sit in driveways waiting to hit the road again. Others feel like the millisecond of calm before the getaway driver guns it and shit gets crazy. @supersangron

Amy Shore She's 26, lives in England, and takes stunning photos of cars you will likely never see—partly because you don't live in Europe, where vintage Fiats and rare Renault Alpines skitter around back roads. But also because she shoots automotive unicorns like that 1967 Ferrari P4 above, of which only four were made and only one exists in original condition. @amyshorephotography 90k Followers

Beverly Hills Car Club You might've heard that some well-off people live in and around Beverly Hills, which explains why this dealership peddles some of the most jaw-dropping vintage cars in existence. All of which you can buy, if you have Beverly Hills money. @beverlyhillscarclub

Camden Thrasher Sometimes it's a 1971 Porsche 917, shot from ground level to best reaffirm its status as a legendary beast. Sometimes it's a dirt-crusted dune buggy sitting outside a neon-lit motel, and you want to know the story. Sometimes it's just an empty winding road pulling you into the mountains.
