Warehouse421 is a cultural destination and exhibition space in Abu Dhabi’s port area of Mina Zayed. Officially opened on November 19, 2015, it takes its name from warehouses that have been transformed to become a platform for artistic expression, understanding, and further development of the UAE’s creative community. Leading up to the launch of Warehouse421, a curated programme was set to entice, invite and engage Abu Dhabi’s community to explore the worlds of art and design. Abu Dhabi is a city on the move. Not content with enjoying one of the world's richest oil reserves, the region has recently thrown itself into a massive programme of development. And one of the jewels in Abu Dhabi's crown is the new 5.55kilometre Yas Marina Circuit, which on November 1, 2009, hosted the country's inaugural Grand Prix. It was also the first F1 twighlight race, with powerful lighting ensuring a seamless transition from day to night.

Located on the spectacular Yas Island, the track is set to revolutionise the design of future Formula One circuits. Boasting top speeds of 320 km/h and average speeds of 195 km/h, it features nine right turns and 12 le turns and is one of the few venues on the calendar to run in an anti-clockwise direction.
Designed by renowned circuit architect Hermann Tilke, Yas Marina has a waterfront seing scenic enough to rival the likes of Monaco and Valencia. And with the track wrapping itself around the island's glamorous newly-built marina, there's plenty of mooring space for the paddock's plethora of yachts. Its distinctive design also boasts several innovative elements including the iconic five-star, 499-room Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi hotel, which straddles the circuit; the 60-metre solar powered Sun Tower, which offers unrivalled views for invited guests; and a pit lane which sees the cars exit via a tunnel passing under the track.
Another world ďŹ rst is that all of the grandstands, including the massive hairpin seating area, are covered to protect spectators from the desert sun, whilst the state-of-the-art pit building boasts 40 air-conditioned garages. Luxuriant comforts and ďŹ rst-rate views are clearly the watchwords for Abu Dhabi race goers.
The track itself was designed with racing in mind. As well as the waterside marina area, there are high-speed sections (including the longest straight on the F1 calendar), tight corners for overtaking, and even a twisty street circuit-style sector. Overall, its diverse elements come together to create one of the longest and most demanding tracks in the world, where close and competitive racing is guaranteed.

Where to go? Abu Dhabi has a very cosmopolitan feel and there is something for everyone. There’s an eclectic mix of international cuisine to suit all budgets, starting at the Emirates Palace (for a time the world’s most expensive hotel) down to the cafe culture that prevails throughout the Middle East. Only a short distance from the city limits, you’ll find yourself surrounded by sand dunes. The town of Al Ain is another popular tourist destination. It’s regarded as the spiritual heart of Abu Dhabi, having been built on seven oases and inhabited for more than 3,000 years. It’s on the Tentative List of World Heritage Sites of UNESCO.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is set to welcome thrill seekers from around the world onboard its record breaking roller coaster Flying Aces. The first of many surprises to be unveiled as part of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s expansion, Flying Aces, is set to take guests to speeds up to 120kmph along a 1.5km track featuring a 52 meter (170) tall loop and a 51 degree steep li. The architectural masterpiece will offer extreme gravity defying flight acrobatics that include a non-inverted loop, down flips and plenty of airtime. Commenting on the launch, Jesse Vargas, General Manager at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi said: “The groundbreaking engineering and technologies behind this bi-plane coaster will give guests the

From its location in the Middle East—a central axis between Europe, Asia, and Africa—the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will contribute to a more inclusive and expansive view of art history that emphasizes the convergence of local, regional, and international sources of creative inspiration rather than geography or nationality. At the same time, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will acknowledge and celebrate the specific identity derived from the cultural traditions of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates, as well as other countries in the Middle East. The museum’s collection will encompass art in all mediums produced around the world from the 1960s to the present day, and will be a catalyst for

scholarship in a variety of fields, chief among them the history of art in the Middle East in the 20th and 21st centuries. A dynamic program of changing exhibitions will explore common themes and affinities among the work of artists across time and place. Commissions created specifically for the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi collection will reinforce the museum’s commitment to working with artists and supporting contemporary artistic production. Architecture The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, designed by Frank Gehry, is an experiment in inventive 21st-century museum design. The building defines a new approach to the museum visitor experience and presents an innovative vision for viewing contemporary art in the context of a desert landscape. Currently under development, the new museum will be situated on a peninsula at the northwestern tip of Saadiyat Island adjacent to Abu Dhabi in the
United Arab Emirates. Surrounded on three sides by the gleaming waters of the Persian Gulf, the building site also serves as a manmade breakwater configured to protect the island’s pristine north beach zone. Inspired by expansive industrial studio spaces, the museum design reflects the large scale at which many contemporary artists work, and presents new gallery layouts unlike conventional museum spaces. Clusters of galleries in varying heights, shapes, and character, allow for curatorial flexibility in organizing exhibitions at dimensions that have not previously existed. Evolving from several main cues, clusters of galleries connected by catwalks center around a covered courtyard. Additional vertical clusters of galleries pile on top of the central circulation creating a combination of vertical and horizontal spaces for exhibition organization. The design also incorporates sustainable elements appropriate for the region, including natural cooling and ventilation of covered courtyards derived from the concept of traditional wind towers found throughout the Middle East. www.guggenheim.org

On entering the Zayed National Museum, visitors will embark on a compelling journey into the culture and history of the UAE, and the story of Sheikh Zayed – the UAE’s father and continual source of inspiration.
The Sheikh Zayed Library encourages visitors to take their learning about Sheikh Zayed and the UAE a step further. In the library visitors will be able to examine historical and cultural sources and explore various interactive media.
Sheikh Zayed: Life and Times is the museum’s core gallery, tracing the life story of Sheikh Zayed and his unification of the UAE. Seminal moments in the intertwined histories of man and nation will be brought alive through photographs, national treasures, key documents and personal effects belonging to the late ruler.
The core values of Sheikh Zayed introduced in the lower floor galleries will be continued in more detail in the upper floor galleries. The Land and Water Gallery explores the way the region’s natural resources were used, cultivated and traded in the past. Sheikh Zayed recognised
the importance of preserving the nation’s environment, building a framework to ensure that a similarly sustainable approach is followed today. The People and Heritage Gallery focuses on the traditional values that have been at the heart of UAE life for centuries and underpin the UAE’s political and cultural life today. These values, embraced and cherished by Sheikh Zayed, include an emphasis on the importance of human relationships, warm hospitality and living in rhythm with nature. The History and Society Gallery charts millennia of human selement in the region. Using archaeological evidence and historical records, the gallery traces the area’s history from Stone Age peoples dwelling in the area 200,000 years ago, to the creation of the modern state by Sheikh Zayed.
The Science and Learning Gallery uncovers the way that Sheikh Zayed’s passion for education transformed a society based on traditional knowledge to one where literacy and numeracy are available to all. Visitors will also discover the influence that Arabic disciplines of language, literature, navigation and medicine have had on the rest of the world. The Faith and Islam Gallery explores the crucial role of faith in Sheikh Zayed’s life as the driving force behind his humanitarianism and vision for the future of the nation.
