A NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WMM has been challenged to have a MINISTRY PRESENCE IN 150 NATIONS AND BIRTH 5,000 NEW CONGREGATIONS outside of the United States as we move forward with Arise 2033. This vision requires a strategic approach - an approach that calls for you and me to have a bigger vision, more passion, and clear strategies that will give us a track to run on and a long-term commitment that will not let us stop.

Bishop Talmadge Gardner In partnership with Jim Eby and Mission Catalyst International, we have outlined a strategy that will train and resource missionaries, national leaders, pastors, and evangelists in what we are calling “GREAT COMMISSION EQUIPPING CONFERENCES" or "GCECs. These GCECs are divided into two phases, which will ideally be taught six months apart. The training in Phase One and Two teach students the ten characteristics of Great Commission churches: 1. Great Commission churches are led by a person with a sense of destiny. 2. Great Commission churches persevere in prayer and Intercession. 3. Great Commission churches have a passion to win lost people. 4. Great Commission churches disciple new believers. 5. Great Commission churches have a commitment to plant new churches. 6. Great Commission churches have a passion to f inish the Great Commission. 7. Great Commission churches have a clear strategy for reaching and discipling those who have not heard. 8. Great Commission churches minister in supernatural power. 9. Great Commission churches send trained workers into the harvest f ield. 10. Great Commission churches give generously to the cause of world evangelization.

IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 95% OF THE WORLD’S PASTORS LACK FORMAL TRAINING. God’s method for reaching the world is to train leaders who will, in turn, train other leaders. Our World Missions Ministries Global Ministry Center and Regional Director Leadership team have already been trained, and ARISE 2033 WMM goals have been established for the next f ive years. OUR RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE IN 30 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES. There are 107 nations within our Regional boundaries with no IPHC presence. These nations must become our priority. You must know that we are passionate about seeing the Great Commission come to f ruition. Luke 19:10 reminds us that, “The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” [NIV] May the legacy of ARISE 2033 show that we became known as a Church that has a passion to win lost people.

Amarillo, Texas The Call By Morgan Wood

The Awakening was given an opportunity to take a team to Amarillo to minister to the youth of the Great Plains Conference, and what an opportunity it was. We were asked to plan an event that catered specifically to those who feel called to ministry, who are already active in ministry, or who are interested in ministry. We led worship, held workshops, played games, and were able to love on one another. The coolest thing was the way that everything did not go perfectly as planned, but it still seemed to go just the way it was supposed to. This trip was a huge reminder to constantly have our ears tuned to hear what the Lord is wanting and saying, so that His agenda comes to pass and not our own.

The Awakening Band Leading Worship in Amarillo, Texas

The Awakening SEND Week at SCU By Betsy Salazar

Every year, The Awakening has the honor to host Southwestern Christian University’s SEND week. The Awakening Band led the student body in a powerful time of worship during their bi-weekly chapel services. They also had the privilege to hear from missionaries Kevin Sneed and Linwood Berry. Both gave a compelling and challenging message, pushing our college students to gain a deeper understanding of missions today. During our forums, the Hodgeses, Russell Board, and members from The Awakening staff had an opportunity to connect with the students in a smaller setting and share Linwood Berry Sharing at SEND Week's Chapel at Southwestern Christian University

more about their hearts. The Awakening team was glad to see an eager response from the students about joining the missions trip they are planning in March 2019 and using their voices to proclaim the good news. The Awakening’s hope is that by doing events like these, they will see more and more young people follow the calling that God has placed in their hearts.

Oklahoma City CMD Summit World Missions Ministries recently held their annual Conference Missions Directors (CMD) Summit 2018 in Oklahoma City. The Summit kicked off with an opening dinner on Monday night, September 24th, followed by a day and a half of valuable teaching and informational sessions. WMM directors and team members shared insight and updates on the ministries of WMM, along with related financial and promotional info. The CMDs and other conference representatives in attendance heard powerful and educational sessions taught by guest speakers: Rev. Jim Eby of Mission Catalyst International; Rev. Kevin Sneed, an IPHC Career Missionary; and Bishop Dayton Birt, Redemption Ministries’ Conference Superintendent. The Summit wrapped up with a time of prayer and blessing. WMM was privileged to host representatives from 14 conferences this year and is confident that this time of learning and fellowship was

HEARTLAND TEAM IN HONDURAS

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT

By Rev. Woody Burpo Senior Pastor, Passion Church Yukon

A team of 21 people f rom the Heartland Conference gathered to enter the country of Honduras and see lives changed on Friday, October 5. The week started a little rough with constant rain for the f irst 36 hours. However, we trusted Jesus to help us get the work done and accomplish the mission. The next f ive days consisted of perfect weather for building a church and attending to the medical needs of people in two different areas. We worked tirelessly and received help f rom the local church in Honduras to f inish construction of the church on time. The team worked well together with great leadership f rom Dan Manning on the construction site. We had a beautiful dedication service on Thursday night with the attendance of everyone that the local pastor had invited. There were about 75 people in attendance and, together, we experienced a powerful time of worship and the Word. It was an extraordinary encounter to have a combined service with the local church f rom Honduras and the missions team. The medical team saw an average of 150 people a day and was able to give them what we would call "everyday basics" but, to them, a miracle. The team was also able to pray with everyone that came through the doors and several received Jesus as their savior. The most life-changing moment of the trip was with the owners of the property the church was built on. They own a house that is right next to the church. The wife was a believer, but the husband was not. As we were building the church, he was able to work with us and get to know us. The team honored the couple and prayed for them one morning for the seed they were sowing with the property. We believed that God was going to bless them for their sacrif ice and generosity. As we prayed, the husband began to cry and you could see that he was feeling the love of Jesus for the f irst time. He was not a believer when we got there, but through the ministry of several people and the work of the Holy Spirit, we know he was a believer when we left. Stories like this are the real reason for missions work. The Heartland Conference team has been a blessing to a country every year for nearly 20 years. Will you join us next time?

SERVE HIM WITH OUR LIPS WITH OUR LIFE WITH OUR LEGS

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Joe & Elsie Arthur and Maxine Jones Lopez Joe and Elsie Arthur met each other at a spring festival for Pentecostal Holiness youth near the Washington DC/Baltimore area in the spring of 1957 and they were married on December 14 of the same year. The Arthurs arrived in South Af rica for their f irst missionary assignment on September 16, 1964. Before entering into missions, Joe did a six-year printing apprenticeship in Washington DC. His goal was to become a printer-missionary, and he believed that the power of the printed page would reach the world for Christ. Throughout their time as missionaries, the Arthurs served as printers, pastors, overseers, and superintendents. They were also able to be a part of the creation of East Af rica Bible College, which is a flourishing endeavor today. In 2002, the Arthurs retired f rom World Missions Ministries. Joe stated Joe & Elsie Arthur

recently that "some call it retirement- we call it a new assignment." Today, the Arthurs reside near Raleigh, North Carolina and serve as part-time funeral assistants for f ive local funeral homes. Please join World Missions Ministries in praying for the continuation of the Arthurs' rich legacy. Maxine Jones Lopez served as a missionary to Mexico for 56 years. She committed her life to serve the nations with the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. Maxine retired f rom World Missions Ministries in 2017 and left a legacy for Christ in Mexico that will last for generations to come. Maxine and her late husband, Manuel, were instrumental in ministerial training and church planting, and they have left a large imprint on countless lives. Maxine will always be recognized as an honored member of the IPHC's missionary family. Maxine remains faithful in loving the Lord today in her retirement.

Maxine Jones Lopez

Please join our World Missions Ministries family in our ongoing prayers for Maxine as she continues to answer the call of God on her life.
