To know Rastafari When the student is ready the master will appear By Ras Flako Ises InI There comes a time when you have to check you’re self and evaluate your position. Take a prip and see who is coming up the track, see what you have to give up, see what burden you will have to off load ,see how much more sacrifice you will have to make to reach the next level ,remember it is a duty call. The dilemma that presents itself is that, some choice must be made, it is either Babylon or Ethiopia, an Outcry or Silence .Now with so many obstacles pegged along the way –InI just can’t hopscotch it out or take a long jump –seen The inborn nature of InI is not to depend on society but to be self sufficient, and self reliant, InI should always be looking outward –may be staying far from the crumbling economy or just working hard to rebuild it This is the age of science and technology, the Iwa when the credit card rule .It is the time when many will have to return to the land for their survival, and eat what they plant, if they plant anything any at all The time has arrive when city dwellers will be not be smiling as the stress factor will rise –Therefore Rastafari should not be relaxed and think all is well. InI still remain scattered over the four corners of the world with limited resources and very little property as collateral to boast –However many are educated and should use that education wisely not in idle conversations but to teach those willing to learn Too much time wasted is trying to figure out who Rastafari is –Or that could be the tvrap for idle minds or one to draw away productive energy or Rastafari? When the student is ready the master will appear –For all those searching anxiously yearning to find out who is Rastafari and how to become Rastafari, they must have an identity, radically different from any colonial mind set or ideology or doctrine of the colonial master, they must be determined to fight with the African people to end the feeling of self –alienation, also be willing to fight to restore African civilizations and be ready to contribute to Diaspora development. Without acknowledging the above the road to Rastafari will be rough and “maka” will jook as the elders would say. The Pan –African consciousness flame must never be under the bushel. The exile in these strange lands must come to end or the strong and the brave must not weakened by the flashing lights bling and temporary pleasures –there is work to get done –A leader must lead and be afraid to make self sacrifice by setting the example Who will get the job be done if everyone is in the talk shop waiting on the next hot news to whet the appetite? Both black and white oppressor will suffer the same fate and all mental enslavers setting up doctrine of confusion will not be forgotten –so it will be on the journey to know Rastafari. Itinual guidance and blessings Ras Flako

charity account, and look for next ways to get support for arranging these free reggae festivals, like a moving peace and unity festival from country to country in Africa, with all the conscious musicians. And it will be recording peace and love messages from the people of the countries it is moving through, to thenext, from people to people, Uniting people from the grassroots. The Meditation I an I got the Vision of arranging free reggae festivals in Africa since I Kingman told I a story about when Lucky Dube (peace be upon his soul) came to play in my Kingman’s homeland, Tanzania. Many thousands of people came to the streets to see him pass, showing him so much love and singing his songs. Later on at the concert, all Lucky could see was kind off stiff old men in jackets and ties- not at all the people who showed him so much love in the streets. So therefore he asked someone at the end of the concert- “where are all those fans that came to see me outside? It is them I wanted to play for!” The answer he got was: “They love You Lucky, but they cannot afford to enter.” Next day Lucky demanded to put up a free concert for his real fans, and so it was done! Later this ision grew bigger, and I thought that maybe it would be possible if I an I can set up a
I presented the idea to some of the Idrens at the World of Jah Online Faith Community. And we said: “a Peace and Inity Festival, lets try mek this happen!” We all saw the bigger picture, the vision that it can actually be a possible startingpoint of a positive strategy for Africa to begin to Unite from the very grassroots - from within the people themselves, as they commInIcate through this movement and the gatherings it would bring. Sisteren Hailema Amhara Solomon, Timeless I remarked that we do have enough artists, craftspeople, and so many resources that can be mobilized and put into creative action. And so the Sisteren uttered strong faith that this idea could springboard into a working plan of action that could be a mutually beneficial arrangement for the artists and the committee of sponsoring countries (or individuals).

Equally important was to make this a festival that would include the whole African family, not just a specific agegroup. That is, to make this moving festival a forum to enable children as well as adults to commIanIcate through, for a better future and greater Over- and Innerstanding across the tribelines, religious lines.. class, political and countrylines etc.

Highly crucial was also that I an I make these Festivals (and the gatherings it brings) possible as the open, tolerant, ecumenic faith community that the WOJ intend to be - and that all Africans truly is at Heart and in Nature. The Bredrin Informative History Man made a strong input of adding building and creating to the sharing and giving of the festival. Yes, this Festival could in fact grow into so much more than the spreading of Words, of Conscious Reggae Music –It should also put the Works where the Words are! Healing, building, creating and giving to the infrastructures of where it passes - Hopefully throughout the African continent. Get involved too! Rastafari: Respect Due Menace 2 Babylon Barbados
This is the month of March which has been said to be the month of disabled people worldwide. Rastafarian disabled people are part of rastafarian society and should be treated with respect, love, understanding and dignity. Furthermore, those with disabilities had a right to peaceful co-existence so they can make a a significant contribution to rastafarian society and this should be facilitated and encouraged. Rastafarians as a people, must acknowledge the physical and mental pain which people with disabilities suffer on a daily basis which able bodied people take for granted and as far as i know HIM is not prejudice. What made me sit and right this letter is because of a close freind of mines and he is a fari, a biker like myslef and i check him quite regular. Got mashed up on a motorcycle as you know how bikes are when you crash at speed your maimed and he is now confined to a wheelchair. His legs have now

Menace aint no religious man as you can all tell but i rode up in there last night and i was shocked to see the congregation of wheelchairs and all HIM believers and followers. I dont get shocked but I was more surprsied that shocked to see in adversity they are holding on to their faith. I stayed for the reasoning and they had a few concerns as to why Rastafari does not seek to support the cause of people with disabilities to ensure that their inalienable rights are protected and respected and recognised by all and sundry. They have been looking and Rastafai has no effective legislation which would ensure their that people with disabilities are provided for. I was like legislation, that sounds a lot like systematic talk but they
insist that in getting to and from worship it is a tremoundous task and have to be carried and they have spoken to the priest about access and nothing has been done to ensure easy accessabilility and it is begining to look like a waste of time. They have gone in person, written letters as an organisation called D.F.H.I.M (Disabled Followers OF His Imperial Majesty) and to no avail. What next? They made me smile, knew they had an ulterior motive of getting me up in there. I ensured them that they need a creative piece of rastafari legislation where their rights will be protected and unfortunately because of Rastafari’s sluggard ways of dealing with issues such as disabed issues using the old social work brain box, i had to refer them back to the same system instead of sign psoting them within rastafari. They were not too happy but they had to go deal with the Barbados Council for the Disabled as I looked and looked and there is nothing in rastafarian doctrines that cater specifically for the diabled and this is extremely poor.

I am very happy as I am with you after 31 years. “Next I am very grateful for the people who received me with great pleasure. “All of you know that this naturally gifted country which is green and different from any African countries has never been under colony and has been ruled only by its own kings. “After many trials Italy made propaganda warfare since she can’t controlled before. Through this campaign tried to dismiss our unity and divide our people. “Is there anybody who did not miss his relative during the war? Some of our citizens were killed by hoes, spade and machine guns. “God made it possible that Ethiopia won its enemy quickly. We, the citizens children feel proud when we see our country freed from any aggression and we are very thankful to Almighty God. “Ethiopian people have got a good lesson from the past experience which enable us to cooperate as one mother’s children love each other. This made every Ethiopian to struggle for the country’s independence and freedom. “You have seen that people without freedom is victim as this was seen during 5 years aggression. Indeed our people did not hate native rulers as far as they keep the language, custom and tradition of the people. But Italians tried to rule in a subtle way. During the aggression even though the enemy killed our people, patriots went to the bush and some went abroad in exile. This situation surprised the world. “My native ladies and gentle men of Wollo our country has been free since 3000 years back. However through the help of England and fierce struggle of its children, we freed our country, the flag and king for our common motherland Ethiopia. We have to be one and united. “The prince crown is selected and came up from you, our beloved son prince Meried Azmach Asfa Wosen is with you. Even though I was separated for 31 years [physically it is impossible to say that I was living alienated my self from you. I was with you spiritually. “ Our beloved son is your governor. I believe you may be very happy when I tell you this information. “You may service him loyally adn kindly on the other hand he may share your problem and help you. He may administer you through good Justice - Please, give him advice nad assist him any time. “Let Good keep our fertile country. Let God make it possible long live to our flag.”

HAILE SELASSIE SPEAKS
Its an issue about being comfortable enough with One self and Ones destiny that there is no need to mentally or through Scripture holding anybody back True Love, is Freedom. The Freedom to allow a Spouse or a child or other Loved One to be them selves at all time. Without feeling that it would somehow reflect or even question our own Character. Freedom is learning to Let go ! (Not forgetting)
Letting go of Personal or Heartical Injustice that we feel has been done against us. Not allowing it to haunt us or be some sort of “Play Back” in our heads. This is hardest to do in Personal relationship and Love Relationships because its close to our heart. We want our Loved Ones to See what we See or Experience what we experience. But each and everybody have their own Spiritual Path and that Path is not lesser or less Right. Its a matter of Individual choice. I saw a reasoning about Christianity and Why His Majesty encourage Bible Reading. As much as he talks to all Ethiopians Home and Abroad, he is also expressing his Own Individual
“But through all that has been said and written and done in these years, there runs a common theme. Unity is the accepted goal. We argue about means; We discuss alternative paths to the same objectives; We engage in debates about techniques and tactics. But when semantics are stripped away, there is little argument among us. We are determined to create a union of Africans. In a very real sense, our continent is unmade; it still awaits its creation and its creators. It is our duty and privilege to rouse the slumbering giant of Africa, not to the nationalism of Europe in the Nineteenth Century, not to regional consciousness, but to the vision of a single African brotherhood bending its united efforts toward the achievement of a greater and nobler goal. “Above all, we must avoid the pitfalls of tribalism. If we are divided among ourselves on tribal lines, we open our doors to foreign intervention and its potentially harmful consequences. The Congo is clear proof of what We say. We should not be led to complacency because of the present ameliorated situation in that country. The Congolese people have suffered untold misery, and the economic growth of the country has been retarded because of tribal strife. “But while we agree that the ultimate destiny of this continent lies in political union, we must at the same time recognise that the obstacles to be overcome in its achievement are at once numerous and formidable. Africa’s people did not emerge into liberty under uniform conditions. Africans maintain different political systems; our economies are diverse; our social orders are rooted in differing cultures and traditions. Further no clear consensus exists on the “how” and the “what” of this union. Is it to be,
in form, federal, confederal or unitary? Is the sovereignty of individual states to be reduced, and if so, by how much, and in what areas? On these and other questions there is no agreement, and if we wait for agreed answers generations hence, matters will be little advanced, while the debate still rages. “We should, therefore, not be concerned that complete union is not attained from one day to the next. The union which we seek can only come gradually, as the day-to-day progress which we achieve carries us slowly but inexorably along this course. We have before us the examples of the USA and the USSR. We must remember how long these nations required to achieve their union. When a solid foundation is laid, if the mason is able and his materials good, a strong house can be built. “Thus, a period of transition is inevitable. Old relations and arrangements may, for a time linger. Regional organizations may fulfill legitimate functions and needs which cannot yet be otherwise satisfied. But the difference is in this: that we recognise these circumstances for what they are -- temporary expedients designed to serve only until we have established the conditions which will bring total African unity within our reach.”

Black People, Black People arise and shine for the light has come and the glory of the King of Kings is now risen upon thee. Let not the preachers of the white man’s doctrine persuade you to turn your back against H. M. Ras Tafari the Lord God of Israel. Every man was created for the earth in order that he might have and enjoy the fullness of the richness of the Earth. The white man’s doctrine has forced the black man to forsake silver and gold and seek Heaven after death. It has brought us to live in disgrace and die in dishonor. Now we the black man have found out that their doctrine was only a trick, and all their intention was to make themselves strong and to fool the black man. As I G. G. Maragh speak unto you, this is a very serious affair and must not be forsaken. The wise black man woman and children gaining knowledge diligently toward the truth of H. M. Ras Tafari Kingdom must be had before one could possibly receive the truth, for he is King of Kings and Lords of Lords, therefore he is earth’s rightful ruler. In this name alone will the black people receive happiness. His throne is forever and ever and a Scepter of righteousness is the Scepter of his Kingdom.
Woe be unto the preacher of the white man’s doctrine a hypocrisy or devil worship. There are millions of persons of good will who see the cruel unjust and wicked things done in the Church organizations in the name of God. It is the will of H. M. Ras Tafari that such persons of good will may have an opportunity to get knowledge of truth. May I state that all reasonable persons who hear the truth should readily see that the Pope of Rome and his preachers are Ras Tafari who is the Lord God of Israel’s great opposer and greatest enemy. Persons of good will to the Kingdom of H. I. M. will live forever. The other[s] will remain dead forever. Woe be unto them that forsaketh H. M. By Dawta Hodesh
This is an extract of the biography of LP Howell Pinnacle is located in Sligoville, St. Catherine, Jamaica. It consists of over 500 acres of land, (part of which over looks Kingston/St. Andrew). In May 1940, Mr. Howell purchased and took occupancy of Pinnacle for The Ethiopian Salvation Society. The previous owner, Mr. Albert Chang, was paid cash by L.P. Howell in order to purchase this abandoned colonial estate. Mr. Howell was financially resourceful and independent not using money for personal fulfillment. Instead, he led a humble life at Pinnacle committed to his race. During the late 1930’s when the famous “uprising” took place in St. Thomas, Jamaica, many ex-slaves were suffering racism, oppression, inadequate living conditions and hunger. Pinnacle became the safe-haven for approximately four thousand blacks who desired to live and work communally in Unity. Under Howell’s leadership, Pinnacle was transformed into one of the largest self-reliant/economically empowered communities in Jamaica. Farmers lived and worked in Pinnacle, producing a variety of fruits, vegetables, beans, peas, yams, banana, cassava, corn, coconut and many other products. Ganja, a culture adapted from East Indians (River Ganges) was grown mainly for spiritual meditation, worshiping and medicine. The Rastafarians at Pinnacle, built a food storage for what was called, “preparing for the tough days”. Many skilled craftsmen and women, nurses and other professionals shared their faith and lived there under the motto, “One God, One Aim and One Destiny”. Between 1941 and 1957, Pinnacle was raided several times. Each time the authorities would take away cash money banked in the community that added to thousands of pounds under the claim that it was money earned from selling Ganja. Howell detested the exploitation of the Herb “Ganja” and he was reputed for walking the streets of Kingston, St. Andrew, St. Catherine and other parishes giving money to the poor and children. He didn’t give-in to the
Some observers, for example Ken Post, argue that the role of the Rastafari movement was not significant in the activities of the 1930s. If this were so, then why were Howell and the movement under such scrutiny by the local police and Scotland Yard? His letters abroad to people such as George Padmore were intercepted in England and packages from Padmore to Howell were seized in Jamaica. A “secret” correspondence from Colonel Sir Vernon Kell to Colonial secretary C L Wollery dated 1938 states: Howell has apparently started a movement which he calls the Afric an Salvation Union of Jamaica. He described it as an international organization pledged to support morally and financially the continued independence, national integrity and complete sovereignty of Africa. There are many more “secret” correspondences from the Colonial Office in Jamaica to London and from the police to the attorney-general. These are correspondence about a significant personality and idea, making Howell a serious political figure of the period. Howell was indeed “dapper”, the most militant Rastafari. According to the Observer article (Feb 9), militant Rastas did not embrace his conservative image so they began to grow dreadlocks. Not so. The emergence of the dreadlocks came at a certain time in the movement. It emerged about the time when Ethiopia was invaded by Italy. It was influenced by the unfolding of new images from Africa especially from Kikuyu fighters and others who established solidarity with Haile Selassie against the Italians. The article, however, carried a significant statement by Howell: “We the living members of the Ethiopian Salvation society shall serve Haile Selassie to the end and all well-thinking men and women regardless of color and creed will do likewise.” Indeed, today, Rastafari is not just a Jamaican phenomenon. It has become a universal force. What the planters, the trade unionists, the colonial authorities, established churches and the police tried to crush ininfancy has emerged as a new centre of power in the world. Howell, in my thinking, has to be one of the most influential Jamaicans of the 20th and the 21st centuries. During the 1980’s, the Jamaican government sold off most of this land at Pinnacle to foreign and private investors. Pinnacle is now sub-divided and being sold off by “The St. Jago Hills Development, Ltd.” located at 20 Hope Road, Kingston, Jamaica,

I found it in Rasta, in Rasta life.

On the road to Zion, that’s where I am, Trying to follow the Rasta Light. Nobody can make me fall, nobody can drag me back On my way to Jah Jah, that`s where I am. To many time in darkness I spend in the past, Now with RastafarI, i’m following my path. Waiting for the repratiation, waiting in Babylon, Jah gives me the strenght to bare so much time in Babylon,

Beautiful thick lips Gorgeous rolling hips Goodness she define Her wisdom is divine Reason through out the night under the moon light Taking the time to know each other Together like bird of the same feather Words can’t describe the love they share For each other they care Been through the toughest of time surviving the roughest of time Knowing from where they coming knowing where they going royal family troding through the wilderness King and queen living in righteousness
Living in the Diaspora longing for Africa Oh! what a price they pay Their culture they never betray strengthening each other along the way unto JAH they pray Despite the struggling love keep bubbling making love to the African rhythm That emanates from within This is not something new we discover It’s something ancient we recover this love is not superficial It’s genuine and natural In a desolate place they found happiness proud of their blackness

Beautiful Struggle by Empress Ashaki San Pedro, USA
Finally it’s time to break the cocoon Not a second too late nor a moment too soon I hid inside, caged and waiting to be free Because the world was not ready for butterfly me The struggle strengthened my wings to fly Beautiful and soft like lashes on the eye I had to remain in my cocoon disguise Too many sought to crush me before I could fly I claimed no beauty of which one would speak
Not at all special, some may even say meek But my appetite for growth and freedom persevered Gaining a potency to be revered And then the time had finally arrived The moment the world could not previse Tenacity and fortitude will get their due It became time for my debut My striving transformed me into a dual force Strength and beauty were my natural course

Dengue Fever Remedy
hard as her platelet continued to drop since the first day she was admitted. Fortunately her mother-in-law heard that papaya juice would help to reduce the fever and got some papaya leaves, pounded them and squeezed the juice out for her. The next day her platelet count started to increase, her fever subsided. We continued to feed her with papaya juice and she recovered after 3 days!!!
Posted by Menace 2 Babyolon I would like to share this interesting discovery from a classmate’s son who has just recovered from dengue fever. Apparently, his son was in the critical stage at the ICU when his blood platelet count dropped to 15 after 15 liters of blood transfusion.
Amazing but it’s true. It’s believed one’s body would be overheated when one is down with dengue and that also causes the patient to have fever; papaya juice has a cooling effect. Thus, it helps to reduce the level of heat in one’s body, thus the fever will go away. I found that it’s also good when one is having a sore throat or suffering from heat.
His father was so worried that he seeked another friend’s recommendation and his son was saved. He confessed to me that he gave his son raw juice of the papaya leaves. From a platelet count of 45 after 20 liters of blood transfusion, and after drinking the raw papaya leaf juice, his platelet count jumped instantly to 135. Even the doctors and nurses were surprised. After the second day he was discharged. So he asked me to pass this good news around. Accordingly it is raw papaya leaves, 2pcs just cleaned and pounded and squeezed with a filter cloth. You will only get one tablespoon per leaf. So two tablespoon per serving once a day. Do not boil or cook or rinse with hot water, it will loosen its strength. Only the leafy part and no stem or sap. It is very bitter and you have to swallow it like “Won Low Kat”. But it works. *Papaya Juice - Cure for Dengue* You may have heard this elsewhere but, if not, I am glad to inform you that papaya juice is a natural cure for dengue fever. As
Healthier ways of consuming the Ganja Smoking it is not always the healthiest alternative By Nicholas Blaze
Please spread the news about this, as lately there are many dengue cases. It’s great if such a natural cure could help to ease the sufferings of dengue patients.

dengue fever is rampant now, I think it’s good to share this with all. A friend of mine had dengue last year. It was a very serious situation for her as her platelet count had dropped to 28,000 after 3 days in hospital and water had started to fill up her lungs. She had difficulty in breath-
and I guarantee a higher high than than any spliff. A pinch of fresh ganja can be minced and sprinkled in the pot when cooking greens or rice or any dish at all.Ganja can also be boiled and made into a hot cup of tea or chilled and served as iced tea. Be very careful when drinking ganja as a tea, try not to drink it too fast or too much or else the effect will be one you will never forget. Follow up Herb is the healing of the nation, if de I use de herb as a sacrament and de I don’t want to smoke, burning de herb in a fire or incense holder during ises is another way, also if de I get a cut or bruise no matter how big de abbraison is de I can batter de fresh herb on a piece of gauze or clean cloth and apply this directly to the area daily to prevent scarring and ensure speedy healing.
Ganja has so many names from both Yaad an Abroad, also it has many uses and ways of consuming. I plant ganja, reap ganja, sell ganja, eat ganja, drink ganja, love to smell ganja.... I also smoke ganja but any form of smoking no matter what is in this time and age of pollution is unhealthy. There are many ways of consuming ganja without smoking, e.g. if you heat the herb in pot until it becomes crispy then use your fingers to crumb it to a powdery form this can be can be be sprinkled on any friut like sugar
I have a Idren in Jamaica who was dragged half a mile by a truck on his on his side, he used this remedy and to this day if you see him without his shirt on you cannot tell that his skin was peeled from his body. The seed alone consists of 72 different medicines which if boiled with the fresh leaves and bark of the not yet matured plant can be stored and taken daily to prevent and treat
