Scouting: Education for life
What kind of education? What kind of life?
This event is for volunteers and professionals working to support the Educational Methods (Youth Programme and Adult Resources) in Scouting at various levels, particularly the World, Regional and National Levels.
The core business of the Scout Movement is to provide education to children and young people. In today’s world, the needs and aspirations of children and young people are changing and they are themselves situated in the dynamics of a fast changing society. In order to respond effectively to these changing needs, the Scout Movement’s Vision of Creating a Better World challenges us to rethink the education we offer, and its need to adapt or evolve.
The 1st World Scout Education Congress will bring people together to share, discuss and debate the experiences and expertise in Youth Programme and Adult Resources from over 200 countries and territories where Scouting exists. The event will also invite inputs from experts in the theory of education and from representatives of other youth organisations offering educational programmes, to give their perspectives.
