EUROPE CHRONICLES

If you like visually stunning buildings, then you must check out Vienna, Austria, where you will be smitten with old-century-style buildings. And beyond just city's buildings, this gateway to Eastern Europe offers many activities, too. To cover all of Vienna's top attractions, it would take about a week or two depending on your pace. The city is quite touristy, so you will find every tourist trap there is. From the huge chapels to palaces that will make you melt in wonder, Vienna boasts a lot when it comes to architecture.

Two great spots to check out are the Vienna State Opera House and The Hofburg. Some attractions are right next to each other, so find other attractions along the way as you go throughout the city. If you have a sweet tooth, you must stop at one of Europe's oldest bakeries. Demel was established in 1786 and is still going strong. The long line is certainly worth getting a bite from this historic bakery, especially if you get the Sachertorte, a chocolate dessert that will make you stay for another slice. Don’t let all that this city has to offer stop you from visiting the rest of the country. The Austrian countryside is a nice complement to the city. I unfortunately didn’t get to visit this part in my journey, but hope to go back in the future. Here are some photos a friend of mine took that make me jealous of not having gotten the chance to visit this wonderful countryside. Overall, Vienna is a great city, but the only downside is that there are a lot of tourists. But, this does mean you'll see and meet people from many different countries. Vienna is an easy place to travel to, and whether you fly to the Vienna International Airport or take a European road trip, you will have a blast. Take the chance if you have it because Vienna, Austria will be a good time well spent.
