fund your program?
All students should have the opportunity to study abroad. In every effort to remove barriers to access, our team is here to provide financial advising and assistance every step of the way.
Financial Aid
Over half of our participants use financial aid toward the cost of their program. In fact, sometimes the tuition of your host university abroad is cheaper than at your home university!
Anything you typically use to fund your education is considered financial aid: Title IV funding (Pell, Stafford, and PLUS), grants, loans, and university or private scholarships. If you receive financial aid for your home university, you’ll likely be able to use those funds for study abroad, too!
We’re happy to accept any form of financial aid. Still, you’ll need to consult with your university or scholarship provider to determine what exactly can be used for your study abroad program.
Scholarships
TEAN and ISA both offer generous scholarships to help make study abroad a reality. No matter your program or term length, we have variety of merit- or needbased scholarship opportunities for you!
There are also a number of university, local, and national scholarships you may be eligible for. Be sure to check with your Study Abroad and Financial Aid offices to see if they offer any scholarships or additional information.
Psst: Right now, only 10% of students take advantage of scholarship opportunities–make sure you’re one of them!
National Grants
National grants are also a great option, like The Fund for Education Abroad (FEA). As an Access Partner, WorldStrides has joined FEA’s mission to provide scholarships and ongoing support to underrepresented students in the U.S. study abroad population.
FEA scholarship applicants participating in an ISA or TEAN program may be eligible for financial support of up to $5,000.
