Chair and Chief Executive’s Report Following the sale of residential care in 2014, the past year has been one of consolidation and adaptation of our business model in preparation for the full roll out of the Consumer Directed Care approach in 2017. This heralds the advent of a new competitive landscape. In preparation for the future, ECH has developed a Strategic Five Year Plan to enable us to navigate this changing landscape. People remain at the heart of ECH which is enshrined within our expanded Purpose and Values, and validated through an extended range of services that will enable people to live the best life possible, independently, in their home and community as they age. While much of the year was focused on the future, existing ECH customers featured heavily in our activities; with five independent living villages upgraded and 68 independent living units refurbished; plus the expansion and refurbishment of ECH North East Wellness. Embracing new technology is critical to delivering our services where they are needed. The launch of the My Home Reach program has enabled more people to access the services and support needed to achieve their goals from the comfort of their own home, while the provision of new software and systems will continue to improve organisational efficiency and service delivery to a wider audience. The introduction of our Dementia Champions Program embodies our commitment to this critical societal issue and our stance as a leader in providing programs and support for people with Dementia and those living along side them. The concept of enabling people to live the best life possible by being active, engaged and confident is a fundamental building block for the future of our organisation, for our staff and for the people whose lives we touch every day. The achievements of the past year have laid the foundation from which we will continue to build the ECH brand and community.

Auditor’s Report INDEPENDENT AUDITOR’S REPORT TO THE MEMBERS OF ECH INC. Report on the Summarised Financial Report We have audited the accompanying summarised financial report of ECH Inc. (“the association”), which comprises the summarised statement of financial position as at 30 June 2015 and the summarised statement of profit or loss and other comprehensive income which was derived from the financial report of ECH Inc. for the year ended 30 June 2015. We have expressed an unmodified auditor’s opinion on that financial report in our independent auditor’s report dated 24 September 2015. The Board of Director’s Responsibility for the Summarised Financial Report The Board of Directors of the association are responsible for the preparation of the summarised financial report that gives a true and fair view in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012 and for such internal control as the Board of Directors determine is necessary to enable the preparation of a financial report that gives a true and fair view and is free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error. Auditor’s Responsibility Our responsibility is to express an opinion on the summarised financial report based on our audit. We have conducted our audit in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards. Those standards require that we comply with relevant ethical requirements relating to audit engagements and plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial report is free from material misstatement. An audit involves performing procedures to obtain audit evidence about the amounts and disclosures in the summarised financial report. The procedures selected depend on the auditor’s judgement, including the assessment of the risks of material misstatement of the summarised financial report, whether due to fraud or error. In making those risk assessments, the auditor considers internal control relevant to the entity’s preparation of the summarised financial report that gives a true and fair view in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances, but not for the purpose of expressing an opinion on the effectiveness of the entity’s internal control. An audit also includes evaluating the appropriateness of accounting policies used and the reasonableness of accounting estimates made by the Board of Directors, as well as evaluating the overall presentation of the summarised financial report. We believe that the audit evidence we have obtained is sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for our audit opinion. Auditor’s Opinion In our opinion, the accompanying summarised financial report of ECH Inc. is consistent, in all material respects with the financial report from which it was derived. For a better understanding of the scope of our audit, this auditor’s report should be read in conjunction with our auditor’s report on the financial report of ECH Inc. for the year ended 30 June 2015.
