Dear Friends:
President
W
e have heard some great feedback about the MetroWest CONNECT brought to you in partnership with the MetroWest Master Association (MWMA) and the West Orange Times & Observer. We are glad that producing this communications vehicle to share the happenings, news and events within our community is creating a greater connection and sense of pride for MetroWest residents and businesses. It’s election season and I’m not talking about political elections – I’m talking about candidacy for a two-year term on the MetroWest Master Association Board of Directors. To qualify as a candidate, a Member: • Must be a parcel owner as defined in the Governing Documents; • Cannot be delinquent in the payment of any fee, fine, or other monetary obligation to MWMA for more than 90 days; • Cannot have been convicted of any felony in this state or in a United States District or Territorial Court, or have been convicted of any offense in another jurisdiction which would be considered a felony if committed in this state, unless such felon’s civil rights have been restored for at least 5 years as of the date on which such person seeks election to the board. • Must not be involved in active or ongoing litigation or claims with or against the MWMA. This qualification shall not prevent an existing Board member from being nominated when the litigation was initiated against them or by them while already a seated Board member. • There shall not be more than one (1) member of the Board nominated or elected from any one Community Association. Be on the lookout for the first notice with candidacy information being mailed out to all Members on October 1 with candidate submittals due October 23.Then, mark your calendars for Election Day – December 9.Whether you are running for a Board position or voting for a particular candidate, it’s important to let your voice be heard by participating in this democratic process. I look forward to connecting with you in MetroWest.
Sincerely,
Jim Drayton

Global Service Standards 1. We know our Mission, Core Values and Global Service Standards and strive to delight our customers by living them every day. 2. We fulfill our Mission through empowered associates who continuously strive to improve our service and seek proactive, innovative ways to delight our customers. 3. We respond to all communication by the end of the next business day. When a resolution cannot be provided immediately, we provide a clear set of expectations and a timeline. 4. We listen with genuine curiosity. We probe for clear understanding and ensure we have met expectations in addressing any issue. 5. We always apply the 15-10-5 rule with our customers and each other. At 15 feet away make eye contact; at 10 feet smile, stand, acknowledge; at 5 feet offer an authentic greeting. 6. When our customers need assistance, we show them the way rather than pointing in a general direction. 7. Correspondence and verbal interactions are always professional, accurate, clear and grammatically correct. 8. All customer and colleague interactions reflect a respectful, warm and friendly tone. All customers are greeted as Mr., Ms. or Mrs. and closed with “how may I assist you further?” 9. We show respect and appreciation for our customers and put them first in everything we do while recognizing the impact our actions have on their homes and lifestyles. 10. All associates possess the awareness and readiness to effectively perform their duties prior to engaging with customers and fellow associates.
Y
es, we are certainly “Planting the Seeds of Service” in MetroWest! Critical Intervention Services (CIS) as well as Girard Environmental Services has joined us to truly promote our gardening concept of “Planting the Seeds of Service” incorporating our 15 Global Service Standards. No weeds allowed! All were involved and participated in our kickoff, we even brought shovels and the plants were edible!
11. We foster a constructive work environment and a trustworthy reputation by always speaking positively about our customers, partners, fellow associates and our organization. 12. Safety and security are everyone’s responsibility. We follow safety policies and procedures and we know our individual and collective roles in emergency situations. 13. Our attire, personal image and work space reflect the respectful, professional character of our brand. Our customers know us by name and we proudly and consistently display our brand. 14. We seek honest and timely feedback on how to continuously improve the quality of our service and ourselves. 15. We protect the privacy of our clients, residents and fellow associates, as well as our company’s assets and confidential information.

MetroWest JazzFest Produced Great Jazz Notes MetroWest Master Association’s (MWMA) 3rd Annual Smooth JazzFest recently crooned into the night with a fabulous line up of live music, a youth art show, delicious food from the MetroWest Golf Club Grill and an exhibitor zone. The premier jazz/R & B notes of Central Florida’s Robert Harris kicked off the event followed by national recording artist and saxophonist headliner, Will Donato. Both performers delighted the crowd with their dynamic performances and enthusiastic audience interaction. The event also benefited the Edgewood Children’s Ranch, a non-profit residential program that helps children, teens, and their families address behavioral issues. Amara won the Charity Challenge by collecting over 400 items on the Ranch’s wish list. Thanks to everyone in attendance, participants in the Charity Challenge and a especially to our generous sponsors for making the event a success: Diamond Sponsor, Girard; Premier Sponsor, MetroWest Golf Club and Gold Sponsors, The Body Club, CIS, Hard Rock International, Byrd & Byrd, Mark Scott Contracting, National Real Estate and the West Orange Times & Observer. We can’t wait to tune up for next year’s event.

hile on duty in MetroWest on 5/20/15, Public Safety Officer Pena was talking to the children at a bus stop and noticed a juvenile female become stiff and fall backwards on to the sidewalk. The juvenile began convulsing after striking her head on the pavement. Officer Pena immediately rendered life saving assistance to prevent the juvenile from choking on her own fluids. While caring for the juvenile, Officer Pena was simultaneously able to make contact with emergency care personnel. Upon EMS arrival they were able to take over the care of the juvenile and PSO Pena was able to calm the rest of the juveniles at the bus stop and educate them on what had happened. fficer made contact with resident Kayla and son in the Indigo community. Officer talked to Kayla about her night and her weekend. Kayla was happy to see the Officer again and thanked him for his help when she was looking for her car keys a few weeks ago. Officer informed Kayla he remembered she mentioned it was her son’s birthday and could not afford a gift. Officer presented Kayla with a Transformers Birthday card for her son and an Avengers 2 poster. Kayla was very happy and couldn’t believe an Officer would do that for him. Kayla’s son was given the gifts and immediately got excited and began to play with the talking card and naming off characters from the poster. Officer wished him a happy 4th Birthday and made him an honorary Jr. Public Safety Officer. He placed his badge sticker on his card and was very happy. Kayla thanked the Officer and informed the Officer her son will remember this for a long time. Officer reminded Kayla how to reach Public Safety if needed and thanked her for her time. Officer gave the son a high five and wished him a Happy Birthday from all of us at the Public Safety office.
