Peeking from the corner of the buildings in Veranda Park is Orlando’s newest restaurant, itar Bistro & Market. It was founded by Argentine and European descendant, Chef Mariana Moya. Moya spent her childhood immersed in food, cooking with her mother, a renowned chef from Culinary Arts Academy in Switzerland. It was her mother, however, who suggested that she make a career of it. Moya taught herself to cook with the help of legendary illustrated
manuals in Latin and European cuisine. At the age of 23, she graduated with honors at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Orlando, Florida. Today, Chef Moya has gained a vast reputation as one of the youngest and talented chefs from the Central Florida area. Her compromise is the cozy and airy itar Bistro and Market at Veranda Park in MetroWest. itar—which stands for Italy and Argentina—echoes the fascinating culture of the land of the gaucho and the tango, where more than 60 percent of residents are of Italian descent. Immigrants from Piemonte and Veneto Italy came in massive numbers to Argentina around the turn of the 20th century, with farmers, winemakers and merchants drawn by a climate similar to Northern Italy, leaving a mark on culture and food.
itar explores its sensational culinary roots with a unique blend of gourmet flavors, decadent desserts and a wonderful selection of fresh cut meats, cheeses, pasta and a variety of over 60 wines. Beyond dining, itar has a full cafe, bakery, deli and marketplace for customers to purchase imported ingredients to craft an inviting meal at home for friends and family. The atmosphere is enhanced by itar’s musical identity which is a subtle mixture of Electro-Ethnic rhythms and ChillOut sounds in perfect harmony with the restaurant’s décor to embody an innovative and avant-garde dining experience. With both indoor and outside seating, you’re sure to find a comfortable moment in a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy the quality selections at itar Bistro & Market!

ABOUT THE OWNER George Ibarra. My family has owned and managed Mexican restaurants for over 40 years. I started in the business when I was 18 and never left! I opened my first store in Orlando in 2000 and have grown the franchise to include 7 stores throughout Central and Southwest Florida. What is the secret to your success? Hard work and family. What kind of work culture do you promote? Have fun. Don’t stress the small stuff.Treat employees like family. What is your management style? I’m very easygoing as long as everyone is doing their assigned task.
ABOUT THE BUSINESS
When/how did it get its start? This location launched in October 2015 What kind of good or services does your business offer to the MetroWest community? Besides employment opportunities, we bring authentic Mexican fare to the residents and visitors of Metro West.
What makes MetroWest an ideal community for your business? When I chose Metro West, I did so based on minimal competition and the demographics of the area. I believe the people of this community want and appreciate quality restaurants. What sets your business apart from any competitors? Authentic Mexican food. There is nothing else in the area to compare. Also, we have a beautiful outdoor dining area overlooking the lake with an open bar. Patio can accomidate 50-60 people comfortably. Do you have any big goals planned for your business in the next five years? I think it is time to tighten up and concentrate on the restaurants I have. No major growth plans at this time. How many employees do you have? 140 total, 20 in Metro West How do you describe your customers? A pretty good snapshot of America. Most folks who come do so to relax and have fun. And this is our specialty!

Additionally, the kids were able to sit in the patrol vehicles and activate the lights as they talked on the radio with other officers. Plus, individuals looking to victimize community members aren’t typically on the lookout for Bicycle Officers. Bicycle Officers aren’t as noticeable as officers in vehicles, which can be very detrimental to the unsuspecting criminal!
Bicycle Officers bring a new dynamic to our ever-growing Public Safety Program. Because of their unique capabilities, Bicycle Officers will add yet another level of connection within MetroWest communities. Some additional advantages Bicycle Officers bring to the Public Safety Program include: • Bicycle Officers are easily approachable! Whether it’s to chat, get information, ask for assistance or report a problem, anyone can connect with them with ease. It’s proven that bicycle officers receive twice as many contacts with the public due to accessibility.
• Bicycle Officers are able to use all of their senses to detect possible issues. Because they are in the open air, they can often see, hear and even smell things that officers in vehicles may not.
• Bicycle Officers are value added when it comes to supporting the Public Safety Program’s objective to establish relationships and build trust within the MetroWest community. By pedaling through our communities, they have the luxury of readily
