Now in its ninth year, the Windermere Wine & Dine is one of the most highly anticipated events in all of West Orange. Originally created as a fundraiser to bene t Windermere Elementary School’s Mustang Education Fund and other town committees and organizations, the event has become a staple in the town. It consis tently sells out, and each year the proceeds multiply. To date, the event has raised more than $850,000 for local charities. The 2022 event bene ted Edgewood Children’s Ranch, SpiritHorse at Windermere Eques trian Center, Do Good Farm and Special Hearts Farm.

HAPCO — the music and arts organization run by Oakland Town Commissioner Joseph McMullen — is bringing a living jazz legend to West Orange, and you can see him for free. Ron Carter is a legendary jazz bassist who holds the Gui ness World Record as the most recorded jazz bassist in history. He can be heard on more than 2,500 albums and performed with artists such as Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams, Wayne Shorter, Bobby Hutch erson, McCoy Tyner and Joe Henderson. The UCF Flying Horse Big Band, under the direc tion Je Rupert, along with guest vocalist Lenard Rutledge, will open the show.
