As 31st August is a Sunday, you may need to get your entry posted by either Friday 29th or Saturday 30th August. Remember, strict adherence to guidelines is required. Creative Connections opens this Saturday 30 August, 1pm to 3pm, Perth Town Hall. Honest, raw and vibrant artworks by 54 people with disabilities are the catalyst for 48 poets' expression. Apart from feature poet Amanda Joy, nearly one-third of the poets are also OOTA members including Kevin Gillam, Rose Van Son, Liana Joy Christensen, Gail Willems and nine more. Come along to this unique afternoon. Poets to read against the backdrop of artworks. Works for sale include a poem!

How to turn this hobby into writing for cash, and how to improve what you write? These, and other questions, will be answered by Dr Douglas Sutherland-Bruce, a former Gold Plate judge and professional food writer since 1986. $30 members, $45 others Manuscript Assessments – Sat 27 September, 1-4pm An invitation to writers: this is an opportunity for you to have a one-hour private discussion with a professional writer, editor and assessor, regarding your ideas for a proposed book-length work.
