Head teacher’s welcome On behalf of the Governors and staff, I would like to welcome you to Beauchamp Middle School. We believe that education succeeds in an atmosphere of encouragement and high expectations. Our strength is to create opportunities for the success of all our children through the quality of our curriculum, the dedication of our staff and the care we have for the children. We want our staff and pupils to strive to achieve their full potential. We aspire to achieve this through our belief that education is a partnership in which pupils, parents, staff and governors play a vital part. We look forward to working closely with you to provide a happy and successful education for your child. I hope this booklet will give you an insight into some of our aims and values. A visit to the school can help to complete the picture. We will always be happy to see you. Ian Evason Headteacher

High quality teaching Teaching and learning are central to our purpose and our greatest strength. Within the framework of a well disciplined, safe and hardworking community, we develop lively, enquiring minds able to investigate, analyse and solve problems. We provide opportunities for children of all abilities to acquire a wide range of knowledge, skills and practical abilities, as well as developing self-awareness and sensitivity to others.
Everyone feels valued One of the key strengths of our school is the relationship between our pupils and staff. Our staff team aims for the highest standards in teaching and care; we encourage our pupils to work hard for the satisfaction of always being able to say, “I did my best. Through the commitment and dedication of high quality teachers and support staff, we focus on the development of the whole child. We are very proud that after four years at Beauchamp our children leave us as confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens.
“Behaviour is good in and out of the classroom. Pupils are friendly, caring and supportive of each other. They have complete trust in teachers and in each other to look after them and say they feel very safe at school.” OFSTED 2013 “I was hugely impressed by the school and the pupils and what I thought would be a very difficult decision has been made very easy for me — I have no doubt whatsoever that Beauchamp is the right school for my son and I came away feeling extremely positive about next year.” Year 4 Parent “Pupils are given good opportunities to take positions of responsibility in school.” OFSTED 2013
Calm and purposeful environment The facilities at Beauchamp are modern and provide a stimulating, varied and challenging environment for all our pupils. We believe in working with our pupils to ensure they are well prepared for the future but also for the transition from any school. Our Year 5 pupils have their own playground and we work hard to ensure we understand everyone who joins our community by working closely with our feeder schools.
Success and achievement for all As a community, our school thrives on celebrating the success and achievement of individuals and groups of pupils. These range from academic success to outstanding success in music, art and s0ports with individuals and teams excelling at local, county and national levels. We believe pupils who do their best deserve to have their success celebrated. We strive for this success by having high expectations, tracking individual pupil’s progress and by supporting pupils should they need extra attention or challenge. Our pupils regularly achieve high standards; our recent results can be seen on our website.
