Western Sydney Academy of Sport is an independent, not-for-profit community based organisation, endorsed to assist Western Sydney’s talented young athletes achieve their sporting goals through participation in our holistic athlete development programs.
These programs include technical, educational and personal development components, and are delivered by accredited coaching resources and professional providers
The Academy’s brand has become synonymous with quality, both in the standard of talented young athletes we support, and the quality of our program content We are providing an opportunity for local businesses to align their brand with that of the Academy, and to provide direct support to our individual athletes
Martin Bullock CEOEvery year the Academy engages over 200 young male and female athletes within its development programs, across a range of sports These athletes all reside within the Academy’s defined geographic boundaries of Western Sydney Our mission is to provide talented young Western Sydney athletes with the skills and knowledge to assist them in fulfilling their potential - both in and outside of the sporting arena
Over our initial 18 years of operation, we are proud to be able to showcase a number of graduates that have achieved significant success at the elite levels of their chosen sport, both on a National and International stage including triple Olympian Jessica Fox (Canoe Slalom), and 2012 London Olympian Amanda Spratt (Cycling)
The talented young athletes that commit to an Academy Scholarship generally range in age from 13 to 18 years and - dependent on the sportare at a relevant age to receive important technical, educational and personal development opportunities that will better prepare them for the rigors of elite level sport Athletes coming into the Academy's program are aspiring to gain selection to the 2032 Brisbane Olympics
Through a contribution of just $50000 (excl GST) you can make a significant difference for the Academy’s talented young local athletes, with all funds raised being applied to the provision of specific technical and educational development activities for the athletes Your Academy Ambassador relationship with the Academy can extend from 12 months ($500) to three years ($1,500)
As a not-for-profit organisation, all revenue generated by the Academy is applied to day to day operations, and directly benefits the athletes through provision of uniform clothing, professional educational providers, best standard sporting venues and other personal development opportunities
Your contribution will enable you or your company to be recognised as an Academy Ambassador and join a family of supporting companies and individuals that are recognised across the Academy’s marketing and promotional platforms In return for your support, the Academy will ensure appropriate recognition and provision of marketing and promotional opportunities for you or your business You will be recognised as a member of the Academy’s Ambassador Family, with a listing of all Academy Ambassadors displayed on the Academy’s website.
Academy Ambassadors will recieve invitations to attend activities such as Council receptions for local athletes (gratis), the Athlete Dinner & Awards Night (ticket cost) and other Academy fundraising activities (ticket cost)
