2023 Golf Program
Introduction
The Western Sydney Academy of Sport is accepting nominations from athletes interested in nominating for a position with the Academy's 2023/24 Golf Program
The Academy's Golf Program will provide development opportunities for talented young athletes in the Western Sydney region In partnership with Jack Newton Junior Golf, the program provides opportunities for athletes in the areas of technical skill, education and personal development, preparing athletes for the next level of elite sport representation
The Golf Program will provide opportunities for athletes to receive technical (coaching) support and educational knowledge across key topics such as nutrition, sports integrity, psychology, gratitude and empathy, cyber safety and sports injury management provided by the Academy
Athletes will also receive personal development opportunities including media and corporate partner exposure, nominations for awards and Local Council events

Athletes selected in the Golf Program will receive the following benefits:
High quality coaching in an individual and squad environments
Access to quality training facilities at Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club and The 19th Driving Range
Opportunity to represent the Academy at various events
Insight into what it takes to become a professional golfer
Access to Academy XPS communication portal; Academy athlete uniform apparel
A foundation in the technical and educational knowledge required to progress to the elite levels of Golf
Opportunity to attend Academy events, nominate for media and partner awards/scholarships
Opportunities to receive benefits from Academy partners Sydney West Sports Medicine and their Long Term Athlete Development Program
Program Eligibility
Athletes nominating must reside within the Academy’s geographic catchment including the following local Government areas: Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Parramatta, Penrith and The Hills Shire
Male and female athletes born between 2005 - 2011 years of age will be eligible to nominate for selection in the program
Costs
Athletes offered a scholarship within the Academy Program will be required to pay an Academy levy of $280 with all uniform costs additional The levy assists in funding education and personal development activities
Any further costs associated with activities that may be organised such as camps, competition or events will be advised during the program.
