Established in 2004, the Western Sydney Academy of Sport is a not-for-profit sporting organisation that provides endorsed localised training and development opportunities for talented young athletes, coaches and administrators in the Western Sydney region

Regions like Western Sydney continue to produce world class sports men and women, and the Academy helps support the next generation of elite sports people to achieve their goals of reaching State, National and International levels of competition The Academy emphasises the values of integrity, quality, knowledge, respect and excellence in performance.

The Academy receives funding from the NSW and Local Governments. The Academy also relies on the support of its major business partners, community partners and the partners aligned with each of the sport programs to enable it to further develop and ensure the best possible service is provided to each and every young athlete, coach and administrator who progress through the Academy

At its core, the Academy is an organisation built on athletic excellence and youth, and the support of families, businesses and the community.

To equip young athletes with the skills and knowledge to assist them in fulfilling their potential, both on and off the sporting field.

Regional Academy talent identification and development programs are officially recognised in Sport Australia’s athlete development pathway FTEM Model The Academy works closely with State Sporting Organisations, the NSW Institute of Sport and various local sporting organisations to ensure our programs are fully endorsed and provide integrated development opportunities for talented athletes
