Dear North Country Residents, The Continuing Education Division at JCC is well aware of the impact of technology on today’s workforce, and the critical thinking and other soft skills that the environment continues to demand. Our Jefferson Express non-credit workshops, trainings, and pre-certifications qualify individuals to make solid steps toward their short and long term career goals. Simultaneously, we are engaging Jefferson County and Lewis County employers in dialogue about upgrading the skills of their incumbent workforce, and we are seeking to provide them with an increasing pool of qualified applicants. In turn, our students—who hail primarily from Jefferson and Lewis Counties, but also nationwide, if not worldwide, thanks to our military members and their families—bring unique perspectives and talents to our workshop classrooms. Collaborations with such partners as the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are boosting the local economy by strengthening existing businesses and helping new entrepreneurs to successfully launch their companies. Enjoy reading our fall Jefferson Express booklet and remember, we welcome you to visit us at the Extended Learning Center on campus to see all that we have to offer! Sincerely,
Terrence Harris Dean of Continuing Education
