Position: Upward Bound Math Science Summer Instructor Hours Per Week: 5 - 10 Pay Rate: $15 - $20/hr. Location: Wichita State University, Main Campus
Dates Needed: June 9 - July 15, 2014 Deadline for Applications: March 24, 2014
Position Function Provides engaging instruction in the respective area of expertise to eligible high school students interested in math and science. The UBMS curriculum is driven by hands-on experiences, the expertise and passion of the instructors, and the curiosity of the students.
Positions Available Anatomy & Physiology Biology, Chemistry, Physics Science Literature, Research Methods Computer Literacy/Programming, Animation Pre-Engineering Latin, Italian, German
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Secondary Teaching Certificate or Master’s preferred) Teaching experience and excellent instruction skills at the high school/college level with emphasis on the hands-on approach Ability to create a quality, innovative curriculum, based on the adopted Kansas College and Career Ready Standards Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer literate (experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred) Familiarity with TRIO Programs or federally funded educational programs for limited-income, first-generation, and/or disadvantaged students
