Environmental legislation changes continually. The EU Directive 2009/30/EC set new standards for red diesel used in non-road mobile machinery, and came into effect 1st January 2011. Sulphur levels in fuel have been cut by 99% to prevent damage to the emission control systems on new Stage IIIb engines. While the lower cetane value of gas oil reduces the combustibility of the fuel, the reduction in sulphur has a direct effect on the fuel’s ability to lubricate injector pumps. The amount of biodiesel that may now be blended into the fuel is 7% (B7), an increase from 5% (B5). The introduction of biodiesel fuel will unquestionably reduce negative effects on the environment, but there’s also strong evidence that it impacts directly on engine performance and durability.
- Biodiesel is prone to both fuel dilution and fuel concentration in the oil sump. - With biodiesel, oil viscosities may change and lubricants can quickly go out of grade. - Oil viscosities can also increase due to oxidisation. - Increased levels of piston deposits can occur. - Increased likelihood of sludge formation. - Biodiesel is prone to creating bacterial and fungal contamination in the fuel tank and system. All these factors can lead to performance problems, higher maintenance and repair costs and even reduced engine life when using biodiesel.

WINTER FUEL ADDITIVE Zeroflo Two is an additive for diesel fuel to improve cold flow characteristics and depress the formation of wax crystals which can appear within fuel at low temperatures. Fuel varies in response to wax crystal modifiers on a fuel to fuel basis. Winter diesel and gas oil should flow down to -15°C. The addition of Zeroflo Two at the recommended treatment rate should improve this by a further -5°C down to -20°C. To be used at one part per 1000 parts of diesel fuel.

Lithium grease with molybdenum disulphide ‘solid’ lubricant. Excellent extreme pressure and anti-wear performance, excellent pumpability, oxidation, corrosion and water resistance. Apply by hand or with a high pressure grease gun.
A grease with a distinctive red colour. Offers outstanding performance when used in all types of bearings within a wide range of operating conditions. Provides good mechanical stability, added tenacity with excellent resistance to corrosion even when operating at high temperatures. Extreme pressure (EP) properties generate excellent load carrying characteristics.
BLACK MOLY MM 2 As above but with an increased amount of molybdenum disulphide.

DELTA O EP, OO EP & OOO EP
A multipurpose grease designed for anti-friction and plain bearings and where the bearings are subjected to high loads or where water wash out is a problem, such as marine environments. Highly adhesive extreme pressure (EP) properties provide excellent load carrying capabilities.
Lithium based semi-fluid greases with extreme pressure (EP) additives. Used for automatic lubrication of antifriction bearings and components on vehicle chassis. High pumpability. Resistant to water. Anti-oxidant and rust resistant formulation. Excellent adhesive properties.
DELTA 1 EP, 2EP & 3EP Lithium based grease for the lubrication of ball and roller bearings where extreme pressure (EP) requirements prevail. Excellent lubrication over a wide range of operations. Typical working temperature range from -20°C to 140°C. Provides excellent water resistance and protection against corrosion. Good mechanical shear stability.
MILLTONE A A premium quality bentone non-melting grease meeting the penetration requirements of an NLGI. No. 2 grease. Suitable for use in both plain and anti-friction bearings operating up to 200°C. Does not soften when subjected to higher temperatures like conventional soap thickened greases. Designed for use at elevated temperatures for long periods. Formulated to include rust and oxidation inhibitors.
PBL Lithium thickened tenacious grease designed for heavy duty applications where adhesion, shock loading and good corrosion protection is required. Ideal for use for 5th wheel applications on articulated vehicles, bucket pins and bushes on heavy earth moving equipment and crane slews. The presence of solid lubricants will fill rough or damaged metal surfaces and distribute the load evenly preventing further wear. Not recommended for use on antifriction, rolling element bearings that operate at moderate to high speeds. Provides high load carrying capability and is resistant to water. Rust and oxidation inhibitors promote longer component and product life.

A high quality corrosion-inhibited blue ethylene glycol antifreeze to provide engine cooling systems with frost protection. Exceeds the performance requirements of BS6580 – 1992 for corrosion inhibiting engine coolant concentrate (antifreeze). Protection from freezing down to –46°C. Note: Dilute to recommended usage rate before using in power cleaners. Effective removal of road traffic film, and removal of heavy grease deposits.
Ethylene glycol based automotive antifreeze and coolant utilising Organic Acid Technology (OAT). Used in all diesel and petrol engines, suitable for all year round use. Protection from freezing down to –37°C and superior corrosion protection for all metals found in the cooling system. Extra long life – up to 150,000 kms or 5 years whichever occurs first. ALPINE ANTIFREEZE PG Propylene Glycol based antifreeze. Dilute with water to provide freezing protection down to -32°C in engine cooling systems. Excellent anti-corrosion protection, multi-metal suitability, reserve alkalinity provides long term performance to meet BS 6580 standard.
HEAVY DUTY TRAFFIC FILM REMOVER A multi-purpose, non-caustic, biodegradable traffic film remover. For use on cars, vans, commercial vehicles, light plant and general cleaning via a pressure washer.
