WE’VE BEEN ON-BOARD

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Celebrity Silhouette® in Liverpool and was given a full access tour of this recently revolutionised ship. From the moment you step on-board this beautiful ship you’ll see the contemporary design throughout. With wide open spaces onboard as well as glass and natural light being a key feature in the refit of the ship, it provides all of the amenities and facilities of a large ship, whilst giving the feeling of a smaller, more intimate ship setting.

One of the highlights for me from this experience was the food! There’s so many places to choose to eat and with speciality restaurants such as Blu, exclusively for AquaClass® guests, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a date night onboard. With cafes offering little pastries and a cask ale pub on-board serving up bar snacks, there’s a restaurant for every mood. The main dining room serves up elegant and delectable delights, I highly recommend the fillet mignon and chocolate lava cake!

We’ve Been On-Board

MSC Virtuosa is a great ship for families as it caters to children so well. During my sailing, they cared for my little boy and treated him so well - with waiters bringing him his favourite snack of strawberries; singing to him for his birthday and even making a special effort to come over and play for a while each evening.

One highlight was the main dining room’s evening sitting. The relaxed three-course meal with table service was quick and friendly, especially at the earlier sitting, allowing us to enjoy early entertainment while our son played before bed.

We bought a fun pass while on-board which offers additional on-board spend for the arcade at a reduced price. We opted for the Premium Drinks Package, which gave us peace of mind in terms of spending whilst on-board.

I had a wonderful winter sailing experience with Norwegian Cruise Line on-board Norwegian Prima®, and the Free at Sea package proved to be an excellent choice! This package offers incredible value, as it includes premium beverages, speciality dining, excursion discounts, and Wi-Fi.

Having the premium beverage package meant I could enjoy a cocktail by the pool, savour a glass of wine with dinner, or indulge in a refreshing drink whenever I wanted, without worrying about additional cost. The speciality dining included in the package allowed me to trial even more dining options on-board, each with their own unique flair and delicious flavours. Whilst there are plenty of places to eat that are complimentary throughout the ship, it was nice to be able to dress up and enjoy the speciality dining too, also included in the Free at Sea package.

WE’VE BEEN ON-BOARD

I was lucky enough to get on-board Carnival Pride in late summer and I can see why they say ‘think fun, think Carnival Cruise Line’ with spectacular spaces on-board to relax, the pool deck offers lovely cabanas for those days at sea when you’re catching some rays.

For those looking to channel the big kid within, I highly recommend the arcade, with so many classic and new games to choose from, it’s a no-brainer for keeping the kids entertained.

One of my highlights on-board is Guy’s Burger Joint, there are a plethora of dining choices onboard, but this one was my personal favourite. Serving up truly all-American style burgers, with a menu developed by the Food Network’s own Guy Fieri, it’s a must try for anyone who enjoys a classic burger.

We’ve Been On-Board

Our holiday on-board P&O Cruises’ Iona to the Norwegian Fjords was our first family cruise, and we absolutely loved every moment of it! The ship was a hub of activity, offering a wide range of entertainment and fun for all ages. The organised activities included engaging workshops like superhero training, where the kids could unleash their inner heroes, and caricature drawing classes that allowed us to capture the fun of our vacation with personalised artwork.

The ship featured golf nets and a giant chessboard that was perfect for family games! The swimming pools were a hit with everyone, providing a great way to cool off and have fun. With so many options available, we were constantly entertained and had a fantastic time making the most of every activity and facility on-board.

WE’VE BEEN ON-BOARD

I sailed with my partner in the Mediterranean on-board the beautiful Resilient Lady, offering a boutique hotel experience at sea. Virgin Voyages are totally unique in what they do and who they appeal to, sailing with cruisers ranging from ages early 20s all the way through to over 70s, and it was the most diverse and liveliest ship we have ever had the pleasure of sailing on! The good-time-vibe was the thing I adored most, and it radiated through every aspect of the ship.

Try and do everything – from the array of cocktails; multiple restaurants; to the activities and entertainment (even though you may need another cruise to recover afterwards!) If you must choose, the Gunbae Korean BBQ restaurant is a must- it’s a fun, high-energy dining experience and a great way to make new friends.
