Before reaching the caves, you will have a short stop in Porto Cristo, a beautiful Mallorcan town where you can relax and take in the beautiful scenery and take photographs before the tour continues. Then, you’ll travel to the Caves of Drach, one of the most popular tourist destination in Mallorca. There are four separate tunnels in the cave: The Cave of Luis Salvador, The Cave of the French, The Black Cave and The White Cave. They are all connected and stretch to nearly 2.4 kilometres in depth. Inside the Caves, you will find the Lake of Martel, an underground lake which, at 1150 metres long, is considered one of the biggest underground lakes in the world. You may be fortunate enough to witness one of the daily concerts of classical music that plays near the lake. On a short boat trip across the lake, you’ll get the opportunity to admire the engineered lighting by Carlos Buigas. From the caves, the tour will move on for a short stop at the Pearl Factory, where you can window shop or even purchase some of the famous pearls of Mallorca. (There are also public conveniences here and a bar, should you wish to purchase water or a snack). After this fascinating tour, you will be taken back to the port in plenty of time for your cruise ship’s departure.

Valldemossa: we journey through the stunning Mallorcan countryside to Valldemossa – a beautiful town located 15 kilometers north of Palma and surrounded by the Tramuntana mountain range. This well-maintained town with its old streets, charming buildings, well-kept gardens, hanging baskets and small street cafeterias and bars has a relaxing atmosphere. The most famous attraction is the Cartuja de Valldemossa. This monastery was the home of Frederic Chopin, the Polish composer, and his partner George Sand during the winter of 1838-39. Entrance to the monastery is optional, and will cost approximately 7 Euros (payable locally).

This tour provides a great opportunity to experience the ‘real’ Mallorca, with regular stops throughout the tour to stretch your legs, enjoy the local atmosphere, take a refreshing drink or snack and take photos.

Deia: dating back to the prehistoric era - is a small village with just over 850 inhabitants. Rock built houses dot the hillsides and valley, building controls are exceptionally strict here to ensure the character and ambience of the village is kept. Since 1946 when the artist Robert Graves made Deia his home the village has been a meeting place for artists. Deia is also very famous with the Celebrities, your guide will point out the ‘special celebrity’ houses!! Soller: one of the most beautiful towns on the island, with a beachfront fringed with seafood restaurants, enticing shops and pavement cafes. The drive to Aix-en-Provence takes approximately 45 minutes. When we arrive, we’ll head off on a walking tour of the area in order to admire its beautiful fountains and squares. You’ll also see the Cours Mirabeau, a picturesque walkway lined with trees and the occasional water fountain. Aix is great for souvenir shopping. It has great markets and shops for you to buy souvenirs from, or you can just just relax and enjoy a coffee or snack at one of the many eateries. There will also be some free time for you to wander the beautiful rues of this lovely town. Alternatively, you may wish to go with your guide to Cezanne’s Workshop. This is just a short drive away from the main centre and here, you’ll be able to view the gardens Cezanne once worked in and if you wish, enter his workshop (5 euros per person entry fee). Finally, we’ll head off on a scenic journey back to Marseille port in plenty of time for your cruise ship’s departure. PLEASE NOTE: This is a relaxed tour. If you don’t wish to go on the walking tour, you’ll be allowed to discover Aix by yourself. You’ll need to inform the guide and the guide will then inform you of the meeting point to return back to the port.

This seven-hour tour begins with a 45-minute drive through picturesque countryside to Aix-en-Provence, where you’ll enjoy a walking tour of this quaint village, with its beautiful fountains and squares. Discover the Cours Mirabeau, a wide picturesque walkway lined with trees and cafés, such as the famous is Les Deux Garçons, once frequented by famous French cultural figures such as Paul Cézanne, Émile Zola and Albert Camus. At this point, there’ll be some free time in Aix, where you can do a spot of souvenir shopping in one of the small shops or markets, or, if you prefer, just relax and enjoy a coffee or snack at one of the many eateries.

The tour will then take you on the one-hour scenic drive to Cassis, famous for its cliffs (falaises) and sheltered inlets or calanques. Your guide will tell you more about the area as you travel. Cassis is a beautiful village with a picturesque port and you’ll have approximately an hour and a half to spend shopping, eating or just relaxing. After spending some free time in Cassis, your transportation will return to the port of Marseille to reach your cruise ship in plenty of time for your cruise ship’s departure. The two-hour drive will take you through the beautiful Tuscan countryside to the beautiful and fascinating city of Florence - birthplace of the Renaissance and capital of Italy’s Tuscany region. Built on both sides of the Arno River, Florence has had a significant impact not only on the culture of Italy but that of Europe as well. From here you will embark upon a guided tour of the the city, visiting the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, the Piazza della Repubblica, the Piaza del Duomo and Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Piazza della Signoria (Palazzo Vechio) and the legendary Ponte Vecchio (The Old Bridge).

Our driver then takes us through the beautiful Tuscan countryside (approximately 2 hours) to the fascinating city of Florence. Your dedicated guide will give you running commentary throughout the journey and will stay with you throughout the day, except during your free time later in the day. The tour will visit the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and St Peter’s Square. The Colosseum: Your first stop, the Colosseum, was completed in AD 80 and is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering, hosting gladiatorial contests and public spectacles until the early medieval era. There isn’t enough time on this tour to enter the Colosseum - however, we will be in the Colosseum area for around 15 minutes so photographs can be taken. We will then board our tour bus to take us to the outskirts of the city centre where we will continue a walking tour of The Spanish Steps, The Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon and Piazza Navona. After the walking tour and free time, we will again board our transportation to St Peter’s Square, on arrival at the Square we will continue our walking tour with free time to explore

Piazza Navona - Built on the site of the Stadium of Domitian, in the 1st Century AD, this beautiful square is a perfect place to souvenir shop or just sit and have a snack and coffee. The tour will finish here at around 11am and you can enjoy free time in the area until around 2.30pm when the bus arrives to take you to St Peter’s Square. St Peter’s Square - The striking square and its imposing colonnade lead to the greatest basilica of the Christian world. St Peter’s Basilica also represents the core of the Vatican City, the smallest state in the world. You can spend free time in St Peter’s Square until approximately 3.30pm, when the tour will leave for the journey back to the port of Civitavecchia with plenty of time before your ship departs.

The Spanish Steps - This monumental stairway was completed in 1725 and is often used to host famous fashion shows. The steps provide a stunning location in which to relax and take in the city’s stunning features. The drive from the cruise port to Pompeii takes about 45 minutes, with Mount Vesuvius in full view and the island of Capri to your right-hand side. Your dedicated guide will give you running commentary throughout the journey and will stay with you throughout the day, except during your free time in Sorrento later in the afternoon. On arrival in Pompeii, your English-speaking guide will take you on a two-hour tour of the famous ruins and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn all about the lost city buried by the ash of Mount Vesuvius following its catastrophic eruption in 79 AD. Your guide will be on hand to give you all the information on what is arguably Europe’s most compelling archaeological site. After the visit to Pompeii there will be a little free time for you to use the rest room, get a coffee or do a little souvenir shopping. The tour will continue with a beautiful drive down the Amalfi Coast, along what is said to be one of the most spectacular coastal roads in Europe. Finally, the tour will stop in Sorrento, a beautiful town straddling the cliffs overlooking the water to Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The tour will end with a drive back to the port of Naples which will take approximately 90 minutes, leaving plenty of time for your cruise ship departure.

The air-conditioned transportation departs from and returns to the port entrance, which is a very short distance from where your cruise ship docks. The tour of Naples includes stops at the cathedral to visit the Treasure Chapel and Basilica, which date back to the 4th century. You’ll also take a trip to the Piazza del Plebiscito to see the Royal Palace, then go on to visit the Town Hall Square and finally, the New Castle. Driving to Pompeii, we’ll enjoy fabulous views of the city of Mount Vesuvius and the beautiful island of Capri to the right. Pompeii was totally destroyed by Vesuvius’s eruption in 79AD, which killed all 20,000 inhabitants of the city. During the 1860s, the site was very carefully excavated, and today visitors can wander the streets, visit the shops and even enter homes left exactly as they were minutes before the disaster.

Experience the immense history of such fascinating sites such as The Forum, the Suburban Baths, the House of the Vettii and the infamous ‘Lupanare’ brothel! Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. As this tour involves walking on uneven ground, including the negotiation of large slabs on the streets of Pompeii, it is not recommended for guests with mobility difficulties or wheelchair users. You’ll return to Naples Port with your guide in plenty of time to re-join your cruise ship.

We have an excellent selection in the majority of cruise ports for our customers to join the ‘Small Group Discovery Tours’, the maximum capacity is generally 20 passengers, but some of our smaller vehicles are based on 8 passengers per tour. WHAT IS A TOUR & GO? This tour can commence from the port, your hotel or the airport, you will then go on your excursion and be dropped off at the port, hotel or the airport depending on the Tour and Go reserved. During the tour your luggage will be safely stowed on the transportation. PORT TRANSFERS We are able to offer a reliable, cost effective service between overseas airport and your cruise port on arrival & departure.
