Illustration: St. Louis Post-Dispatch, November 29, 1908 by Marguerite Martyn

Exploring Music with Bill McGlaughlin Inspired by the famous Six composers who lived and worked in Paris in the 1920s, Bill spotlights five French composers of the late 19th century: Emmanuel Chabrier, Cecile Chaminade, Ernest Chausson, Paul Dukas, and Jules Massenet. He’ll play and discuss some familiar and lesser-known works by them, including Picturesque Pieces for piano by Chabrier, Massenet’s Piano Concerto, Chausson’s Symphony in B-Flat, and stage music by Dukas. To bring the total up to six, Bill adds some piano pieces by Erik Satie, and as a bonus, some seldomheard songs by Henri Duparc. Monday-Friday, November 16-20 7:00 pm
