'Harmony between man and nature', 'Harmony with nature', 'Harmony between man and man', 'Harmony between the inner and outer body of the human being' constitutes the thought of “Harmony” in Chinese philosophy”. —— Tang Yijie, historian and professor of Peking University

The Realm Of Harmonization

" 合和 "

(Harmony Culture) is the core of Chinese traditionl thought from Taoism and Confucianism. This portfolio

mainly discusses the use of landscape design in different time and space scales to achieve the ideal "harmony" state of the site. (PS:In this protfolio, the idea of "harmonization" is summarized as the "Harmony"Culture.)

Design Direction

Dongchi Village

Known as "the home of silk". People have been living on mulberry plantation and sericulture since ancient times there. After the wave of industrialization receded, the sericulture industry in the village is facing many thorny problems.

Industrial development caused pollution to natural rivers

Abandoned mulberry fish pond.

Conceptual Logic

Concrete Manifestation 1. Sericulture industry has insufficient Tr a d i t i o n a l c u l t u re l a c k s Of Contradictions returns; Dongchi connection with the natural environment 2. Villagers lack a sense of belonging; 3.Rivers become eutrophic; Natural resources are abandoned.

Facing of a series of questions after industrialization, where should the village go? By taking "harmonization" as the design concept and showing full respect for the local attributes of countryside, it is hoped to intervene in the village through peaceful renovation, Integrate industry, culture and other elements together, and finally make the development of countryside become sustainable.

Pollution From Textile Mills

Does the industrialization of villages and towns leave people only difficulties and uneasiness?

2-2 Profile Structure

Industrial shrinkage

The reduction of the industrial chain has greatly reduced the villagers' incomes.

As modern textile mills polluted the water source, factories were gradually relocated.

Element Extract

1. Silkworm egg;

People have been raising silkworms for a living since ancient times. The network of waters is dense. Sericulture requires a good source of water to irrigate the main food of silkworms:mulberry leaves.

Mulberry and catalpa were planted by the side of homesteads in China, and Sang Zi was taken as a synonym for hometown in later generations.

Reconstructed Silkworm House

It is planned to clean up the woods on the sides of river for leisure activities. The renovated silkworm house can meet the needs of silkworms for environment when tourists visit. Light and shadow is a common traditional landscape in rural areas south of China. Silkworm's continuous circle of life: circulation implays good timing.

Planned scene 1 Waterfront Dock

Planned scene 1

Current situation: Watercourse and desolate waterfront space

There is no path along the watercourse, and its status is very primitive. Instead of making good use of natural conditions, villagers have polluted it.

Planned scene 1

Renovation: Bridges and waterfront dock space

Additional Provision Of Bridge

It is planned to increase the cruise ship docks, and utilize the river and boats to connect the main nodes in the village. This scene is the beginning of the whole plan.

Scene 3

The region is the core of whole village. After re n o v a t i o n , t h i s re g i o n w i l l f o c u s o n t h e magnificence and production of silk fabrics. It implies a design vision for a more prosperous site.

It is planned to renovate the original sericulture greenhouse, aiming to provide people with a place where an immersive and multi-sensory experience of sericulture is provided.

This region was originally a mulberry fish pond. After the renovation, it is planned to get through the fragmented pond.

Japan & Nuclear Pollution

Japan has a solid scientific and technological and economic foundation. Japan is a nuclear power worthy of its name, ranking third in the world in nuclear power generation capacity, and being next only to the United States and France.

Design Concept

Design Strategy

Nuclear radiation has a great impact on living creatures: DNA damage, resulting in gene mutations and other consequences. Such kind of damage is irreversible. Based on this fact, the design is inspired by "DNA", hoping to help human kinds change their relationship with the Earth in the near apocalypse. Human beings should not be the ruler of the Earth, but the "cell" of the Earth.

The design extracts six key steps in the process of "Amino acid -DNA- protein", abstracts and translates them according to the intention of each step, and corresponds to the space of the energy tower. As implied by the metaphor, human beings have realized that they should follow the development law of the Earth like "DNA". Intention

Effect Drawing ——A sustainable future

Global Planning Layout Take Fukushima as pilots to conduct nationwide popularization. Later, it will be popularized globally, and there will be some information exchanged between purification towers to ensure real-time sharing of energy and data in a strong radiation environment. First of all, towers should be built in waste dumping or deep-buried areas. Next, towers should be laid out according to the distribution of global stagnant and shutdown reactors. By the middle stage of the plan, the full coverage of towers will be achieved in most regions with serious nuclear pollution in the world. Finally, constructions will be conducted in the rest of the world.

It plays therole of external purification, providing energy supply for purification ball and transporting s e l f- p ro d u c e d wastes from energy towers.

Relying on the green repair screw, the zipper structure is constructed. The shape is wide at the bottom and narrow at the top, with stable structure.

The use function of the planned energy tower is divided into three layers. Energy regeneration layer、Natural human habitation layer、Information control layer.

Generation Of Middle Tube Spiral Energy supply On the premise of meeting the basic traffic functions, the sur vival spiral is divided into four functions from bottom to top, i.e. material transport, rambling in the nature, immersive meditation and aerial viewing.

At the bottom, nuclear waste is reused for power generation to meet the energy demand of the whole tower. In the middle layer, the tube collects s o l a r e n e r g y. The data layer is responsible for power transmission and the top of tower supplies power for information exchange.

Along with the urban development, many gray spaces have emerged. At the same time, people's living habits and living spaces have been changed, while many opportunities and desires to look up to the sky have been lost. It is hoped to use this design to not only awake people's deliberations about themselves, nature and the city, but also activate their lost hearts, thus to activate the lost space in the city. Hoping to explore the harmony between inner and outer man.
