02 DAMMING POLITICS GSAPP Spring 2017 Critic: Mark Wasiuta Project Collaborator: Ye Yuan
The massive construction of dams in Cambodia is not only an economic activity, but also a political attempt by superpowers trying to expand their international influence through building desperately needed infrastructure in developing countries, where many agents are involved. This objective of this project was to conceive of a dam as the means for all the agents to negotiate with each other, and turned into the dam urbanism as a whole.

05 CERAMIC ROBOTICS CAUP, Tongji University Spring 2015 Critic: Philip F. Yuan Project Collaborators: Yao Zhao, Xinji Dong
Traditional ceramic craft methods were replaced by robot fabrication which can be more noitacirbaF latigiD precise, efficient, continuous and smooth. Strips of clay were used as the basic language, and braided or stacked, taking the advantage of coiling technology. By precisely controlling all parameters from the KUKA robot arm, entirely new forms were created, giving traditional ceramic modeling and craft new vitality.
