Wedding Day Tips Pre Wedding Coverage: We love to capture details and candid moments, like when your mother or bridesmaids fasten your dress. Details: Please have one of your bridesmaids arrange all of your personal items; dress, shoes, invitations, rings and other accessories in one spot where you will be getting ready. That way we can start photographing it all first thing and get to the candid shots faster. If you can get ready in a room with a window to allow for soft natural light, bonus! Have your bridesmaid, especially your mother or the person helping you into your dress ready before you. This saves time and helps them concentrate on you when you need them, and they will look better in photos this way! This goes the same for groomsmen. Plan to put your jewelry on after the dress, having someone close to you putting on your veil, or a necklace can make for sweet moments to be captured. Plan to be in your dress a little before you have to leave the room (15-30 min prior) allows for more portrait time. When deciding on a room to get ready in its helpful to have a lot of natural light with big windows. We can use flash, but natural light is ideal. Keeping the room tidy is also helpful for beautiful photos. (We expect things to get hectic and messy, no worries when they do) Please make us aware of personal details that are important to you, like personal cufflinks or your grandma’s necklace. Consider designating a wrangler to help you get your things together and to help with family photos later. If you are doing portraits and family photos after the ceremony and before the reception we recommend setting aside an hour. It may not take an hour, but this allows wiggle room. If things get rushed or if you do not have an hour we have done them with a lot less time, so do not sweat it. The most important factor in beautiful photography is light! The best light is in the golden hour, an hour before sunset. This light creates a dreamy glow for spectacular photos; if you can sneak away for a second to get a portrait in the golden hour it will be amazing and well worth it! Along with light, we want to make sure that we do not put you in direct open sunlight. Direct sunlight can create harsh shadows, so we may move you to a shady area for portraits and family shots.
Engagement Sessions Most of my packages include a complimentary engagement session (no substitutions) I do this because I love engagement sessions! They are laid back and stress free and a lot of fun! I love getting to know couples so that I can tell your story authentically and really capture it! Engagement sessions are also a great practice run to help you start to feel a little more comfortable around the camera as a couple for your big day! Let’s schedule your engagement session! Location: Pick a place that is special to you as a couple! Where did you meet? Where is your favorite place to go together? Style: You can really showcase your uniqueness as a couple with your style! Wear something that makes you feel good and be comfortable! If your reading this, your awesome so wear what reflects you! This doesn’t mean you have to be super matchy. Go for complimentary over matchy, no need to have the same colored shirts, unless you’re just into that, instead opt for outfits that complement each other. Bold colors and accessories are fine, you can even throw in a fun pattern, have fun with it!

FAQ How long after the wedding till I get my images? Our contract allows us to take 8 weeks to edit the full wedding gallery. We will upload the images to a digital gallery where you can download straight from the site. We will also place the images on a CD or USB. We like to post a sneak peek photo within a week to facebook for you to share with friends and family. (we can also email this privately, instead) When do I get the print release? When we send you the CD of images we will include a print release? Do you offer prints? Yes, we offer high quality prints, gifts, and wall mounts on our gallery site. You also have a print release, so you are not obligated to purchase prints through us, but we do recommend that you use a high quality print lab. How much do you edit the photos? Our goal is to capture natural beauty so our editing approach is minimal. We do take time to color correct and do minor editing to images to make sure they reflect your wedding day. We can also edit blemishes. Can I share photos on social media or print them off? Yes! We want you to love your images and want you to show them off! You also own the rights to print the images and we hope you do! We recommend using a professional lab for prints, we offer prints, and you can also use sites like mpix.com we just ask that you do not re edit the images.
Things to consider First Look We offer a first look! The first look will happen no matter what in the wedding, your wedding should be your own and exactly how you want it. Some prefer the anticipation of seeing your significant other walk down the aisle, your eyes meeting during the ceremony itself. Some couples chose to have this moment before the ceremony. A lot of couples find it relaxing to share the moment privately in a quiet secluded place. The bonus to this option is having time for portraits together before the ceremony and not having to rush before the reception. It also allows you to share this moment with just the two of you in an intimate setting. We just stand out of the way and document the moment! Whatever you decide we are totally comfortable with both options and love photographing both! Unplugged Ceremony A new option some couples are opting for is an unplugged ceremony. We do not have a problem with your guests taking photos at your wedding, it’s just an option. Everyone is excited in the moment and they want to capture it. An unplugged ceremony is just another option. You provide your guests with the option of being in the moment and temporarily turning off their phones, electronics and just enjoying the moment with their own eyes. We will be capturing the moment for you and if you want to give guests access to your gallery later that is at no extra charge. (Some ask, put up a sign, or put it in invites or programs) Ex. “We want you to relax and have fun today! Your biggest gift to us is to turn off your cameras for now (we have that covered) just be present in this special moment with us!
Thank you!
