Mountaineers Adapt to Life With COVID-19 in 2020-21

The COVID-19 pandemic that took hold in the spring of 2020 and raged throughout the summer and fall, held on as the calendar turned to 2021, wreaking havoc with day-to-day life across the globe. Masks and social distancing became commonplace, but the emergence of vaccines near the beginning of 2021 finally helped bring about a return to some sort of normalcy. While seasons were shorter, seating capacities were reduced, games were rescheduled, testing was prevalent and student-athletes missed games, sports did return to West Virginia University for the 2020-21 season.
