SEASON REVIEW
• 7-1, 5-1 (GARC) • West Virginia qualified for its 14th straight NCAA Rifle Championships and finished the year ranked No. 4 nationally. • The Mountaineers finished first at the 2020 Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) Championships with a two-day total of 4727. WVU finished second in smallbore (2346) and second in air rifle (2381). • Program record nine shooters earned a combined 22 College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) All-America honors. • Nine shooters claimed 21 All-GARC honors. • Verena Zaisberger was named the Elite 90 Award winner for NCAA Division I Rifle. Four Mountaineers have claimed this honor since 2011-2012, while Elizabeth Gratz most recently won the award in 2017 and 2018. • Zaisberger was also named the Mountaineers’ GARC Scholar Athlete, which was the first career award for the music major. • Five student-athletes were named to the 2021 Academic All-Big 12 At-Large First Team. Zaisberger claimed the recognition with a 4.00 grade point average (GPA).
