In The Spotlight

Choosing to become a Mountaineer studentathlete is special. Without a professional sports team in the state, the people of West Virginia and the region love WVU athletics. Mountaineers have the unique opportunity to represent themselves, their teammates and their university to news media, alumni, friends, family and the general public. Interaction with these groups is also part of the educational process as a West Virginia University student-athlete. By taking advantage of these opportunities, it can have a positive effect, not only on a Mountaineer’s career as a student-athlete at West Virginia, but also on their life after donning the Old Gold and Blue.
