• west virginia ranked 25th periodically in the Dual Meet Rankings by interMat and remained in the top 40 in tournament rankings provided by Flowrestling, interMat, and win Magazine • In the postseason, WVU finished in a tie for seventh (62�5 points) at the 2022 Big 12 wrestling Championship and 32nd (8�5 points) at the NCAA Division i wrestling

American to three consecutive seasons� • Like Hall, Cardinale advanced to the quarterfinals in the 125-pound bracket, finishing 2-2 at the three-day tournament, coming one win away from earning his second consecutive All-America honor� • The Bristow, virginia native claimed the third Big 12 Championship in program history, becoming the first Mountaineer to do it at 125 pounds� • Seven WVU wrestlers finished on the podium at the Big 12 Championship, matching a program-best set by the 2016 team, including Cardinale claiming the top spot at 125 pounds and Hall earning second at 165 pounds� • The Mountaineers placed seventh at the 2022 Southern Scuffle, billed as the top in-season collegiate wrestling tournament in the country� Cardinale and Hall highlighted the event for west virginia, earning runner-up finishes in the weekend-long event hosted by UT
