This study has built on previous work to highlight from a practical – non-theoretical – perspective, the nature of transboundary conservation programs. Invariably, transboundary effort begins with a relatively simple catalyst and the need to share information across a border, sometimes between individuals. Over time the collaboration takes on increasingly complex functions and form, encompasses multiple layers of stakeholder, and must manage higher level, somewhat policy-centric, challenges. 29
