STAFF RECRUITMENT AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Section 4 – Policy 1 Date of Issue: January 2013 Date of Review: January 2015
Overview Equal opportunity is enshrined in the legislation, principles and practices of Australian Governments, and extends to the private and community sector. This policy explains BINSA’s responses to this legislation and policy in relation to our employment practices.
Policy Statement BINSA is guided by the Equal Opportunity Act (1984), which upholds the right to equal opportunity in employment regardless of sex, sexuality, age, cultural, pregnancy, marital status, race, religion or disability. Merit (the person most able to demonstrate the skills and abilities required for the position) is the only criteria to be considered when making decisions about employment issues.
