Policy Statement The Brain Injury Network of SA Inc (BINSA) recognises the important role of volunteers, including Committee of Management (COM) and students on practicum placements. In addition BINSA recognises that the harnessing of people’s time, interests and skills can provide benefits to the volunteers, to the persons or projects assisted, the organisation within which they work and to the community at large. BINSA values volunteers who in the Programs and in various other roles initiate, extend and enhance the services and programs offered. Role of Volunteers Volunteering with BINSA can be defined as people undertaking activities:
In partnership with paid workers., becoming an important member of a multi-disciplinary team
Showing a willingness to learn about and work with people who have an acquired brain injury
Without payment
Which add a community perspective to the services provided
Which enhance and extend service provision.
Volunteers are bound by the BINSA “Code of Ethics, Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy See Section 3 Human Resources – Policy 2.
