Section 5 – Policy 4 Date of Issue: January 2013 Date of Review: January 2015
Overview This policy aims to ensure that all existing and potential employees are aware of their responsibilities in relation to acceptable use of the Brain Injury Network of South Australia Inc. (BINSA) computers, internet and email facilities. The rise to predominance of electronic communication mandates electronic message management systems comparable to existing hard copy filing systems. Employees and volunteers of BINSA acquire no rights in any material, electronic or otherwise, created by/in the course of their employment, or accessed on BINSA equipment.
Policy Statement Access to the Internet is provided by BINSA to its employees to assist them in carrying out their employment duties. Material that should be preserved should be clearly distinguished from material that should be purged from the system. Remote Access to the BINSA shared network is available upon request to the Executive Officer (EO) for staff who may be required to work from home or other external site. Employees may also use the internet for reasonable private purposes, which are consistent with this policy. Employees may not use the internet in such a manner that will significantly impact on their capacity to fulfil the duties of their employment.
