BINSA Information on Advocacy There are more than 30,000 people under the age of 65 in South Australia with significant disability resulting from brain injury caused by an accident, stroke or other incident. Advocacy is a service to help safeguard the human and legal rights of people who need someone else to speak up for them. The National Disability Advocacy Program (NDAP) provides people with disability access to advocacy that promotes, protects and ensures their full and equal enjoyment of all human rights. The Federal government has responsibility for funding and administration of disability advocacy through the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA). Brain Injury Network of South Australia Inc. (BINSA) - link to URL for Advocacy pamphlet is funded by FaHCSIA to provide individual advocacy, self-advocacy, family advocacy for people affected by an ABI and also to provide feedback to governments and other organisations about relevant issues so that changes can be made to the system. To access services or for any referrals please contact BINSA at 70 Light Square Adelaide SA 5000 Ph:
