Why?
What?
Brain Injury Network of South Australia Inc (BINSA) In conjuction with Squashbrook Fitness at Mt Gambier.
There are many benefits of physical exercise, including improved, increased fitness, improved moods and improved brain function.
BINSA is the peak body in SA representing those with an acquired brain injury (ABI).
However for a number of reasons it can be daunting for an individual with an ABI to attend a regular gym.
The Re-wired regional fitness circuit consists of a group of only up to 4 clients for one hour per week. The program aims to address all aspects of fitness including, cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility and balance.
BINSA is a not for profit and non-government organisation. BINSA also provides support, information and assistance to those who have experienced an ABI and their family and carers. BINSA is aiming at introducing additional Rewired Regional Fitness programs in Northern Regions and the Riverland.
Re-wired can help by providing a friendly environment to learn the basics of fitness training and to provide a smooth transition into regular fitness training.
There is a range of equipment including resistance bands, weights, recumbent exercise bike, fitness balls, balance mats and more. The program is run by an experienced fitness professional with the assistance of trained volunteers.
