EXAM PREPARATION STRATEGY

Strategy for Last 20 Days of CSIR NET Exam GO BALISTIC OR GO HOME bigger and better! WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE? Now I am sure you must be on Google searching What is the meaning of going ballistic? Ballistic is all about intercontinental ballistic missiles, so those are trajectories or path taken up by missile under gravity after the internal propulsion has seized. But in the metaphorical sense when we use go ballistic it means becoming aggressive and committing to the cause of preparation for the exam, abandoning the option itself to abort.

THE TITLE SEEMS LITTLE SUBTLE BUT IT IS VERY TRUE! THE NEXT CSIR NET EXAM IS JUST 20 DAYS AWAY By Preety Suman

And today I’m going to tell you the preparation strategy which we keep telling our students in Biotecnika. EITHER YOU GO BALLISTIC OR YOU GO HOME! Generally, we adopt this strategy when only 45 days are left in the CSIR NET exam and that is applicable NOW also!

So what does it mean? What is ballistic? and why you should go ballistic now? Let me tell you! Ballistic is all about aggression! And before we go into the aggression, let us understand what goes into the mind of an aspirant just before the exam or just 20 - 25 days before the exam. They start thinking oh my God, I won’t be able to clear this time. Definitely not! And somewhere the energy starts going down. We start believing that 20 days are not enough for revising for the exam, we will need more time!

You see it’s all in our mind! If we think we can revise properly for the next 20 days. Yes, we can do it. Same way if we think we can’t prepare for the next 20 days. Certainly, we can’t. It’s all a myth! it’s all inside our mind! So it’s time to junk the Myth! Let’s go ballistic in the next 20 days or we go home that’s the strategy you will have to adopt as an aspirant for the upcoming CSIR NET & GATE Exam. If you can prepare diligently for the past four to five months Why can’t you just keep the same energy level for the next 25 days, just go ballistic! Now that should be the mantra of your preparation in the last 20 days. If I was you I would have chosen to go ballistic and to help grow my career

So there is no option left that we will abort the preparation and we will no longer merely be defensive by solving comfortable questions, we will offensive and will solve every possible question. So let us commit to an aggressive preparation abandoning the option to abort. Go Offensive and solve every possible question which may come in the exam and why you should be scared when Biotecnika is by your side. If you have got any doubts, login to your study portal, ask questions to your teacher, they are available 24 * 7 to answer your queries. Remember, it’s all in the mind. So tell yourself go ballistic or go home.

New Weapon Discovered To Kill Cancer Voice of Biotecnika : Episode 6

Episode 6 By Shekhar Suman

Cancer is one of the most dreaded diseases the world over. Thanks to the ongoing efforts of several scientists, many genes responsible for uncontrolled cell growth – the hallmark of cancer – are now known and well-studied. These genes, which increase the propensity towards developing cancer, are called oncogenes. Any molecules that could nullify the action of oncogenes would ideally be effective in inhibiting the

uncontrolled growth of cancer cells and thereby help eliminate the tumor. Today Our Expert Kajol Patel shares her Interaction with the scientists of NCCS Pune who have recently discovered a new weapon in Killing Cancer. Happy to announce that some novel interesting findings related to cancer, that have never been reported before, resulting from research carried out at NCCS, have now been published in a renowned international scientific journal, PLoS Biology – NCCS, Pune. HitGen generates these libraries by modifying them, simply taking scaffolds of chemical structures and encoding each leading compound using a DNA sequence. After that It displays the billions of compounds against a protein to identify applicants with affinity for the target molecule.

The diversity and druglike properties of chemicals within It’s libraries, coupled with the expenses and fast turnarounds associated with this approach, have allowed the startup to seal deals with a lot of significant name drug developers. Biogen is the latest firm. In return for upfront and milestone payments of this size, HitGen will turn its stage on neurological

Given the very early-stage nature of the work, Biogen is a long way from turning the prospects into drugs that assist individuals. But that is the ultimate goal of the collaboration The arrangement offers proof of it’s arrival on the stage. Within the past 12 months, It has unveiled a series of deals with a clutch of drug programmers, Merck, Sanofi plus Boehringer Ingelheim. Those deals were dotted in around a RMB 250 million ($36 million) series B round and information Pfizer had started collaborating with HitGen-backed NetVation DL Medicine. It is also advancing its own pipeline. In May, Chinese regulators cleared the company to begin clinical development of an HDAC inhibitor in multiple myeloma. HitGen thinks the preclinical data suggest HG146, the drug, could be more powerful than HDAC inhibitors like Novartis’ Faradayk

Shark Tank Billionaire Mark Cuban To Invest In Perlara Leigh Syndrome Project A Twitter exchange contributed to Mark Cuban’s fund, Radical Investments, placing $250,000 into Perlara’s $7.4 million fundraising round this past year. es disease. Perlara intends to locate more high-value solutions in a lower price by making disease models in yeast, flies, rats or fish screening compounds that are existing to see whether there may be action.”To get a tenth of the price tag, we are building animal models and finding repurposing chances,” Perlstein explained. The goal is a cure, but a therapy that may help cure the disease for the decades it may take to develop one. That is the focus of Cuban’s investment to produce treatments for Leigh syndrome. He said by e-mail, he does anticipate a return on his investment,”but we aren’t seeking to maximize ROI. We are wanting to maximize health and wellness.”He also noted a powerful treatment for the disease may also hold implications for”aging, sports medicine, traumatic brain injury, neurodegeneration and other indications.”As for drug pricing? In the latest announcement, Shark Tank Billionaire Mark Cuban is investing again in a novel project of Perlstein Lab PBC called “PerlQuest” to find remedies for an extremely rare disease named Leigh syndrome. Leigh syndrome is commonly found in babies and causes respiratory failure and death. “Potentially saving lives is appealing to me

funding of between $250,000 and $750,000.

“Rare/orphan diseases, by definition, have devastating consequences for the families affected,” he explained. Last year Perlstein and Cuban came above a Twitter debate about drug pricing. Perlara calls itself a public advantage company, a business that counts doing good for society among its goals. For Perlstein, that means integrating patients in the company in a manner that is more direct, and taking another approach to pricing possible medicines.”We staked our entire brand on wanting to make

plans to begin human testing of its first two projects a year ago, for genetic diseases and NGLY1 Deficiency. Just about 800 individuals have been diagnosed worldwide using the latter. It is aiming to handle both of those through “PerlQuests” too, a system Perlara created to work with families or patient groups that are looking to invest in research. “Right now we are living in a world in which those households are advised if you just raise a couple million bucks for gene therapy, that is your panacea,” Perlstein said, referring to technology that provides a health replica of a gene to make up for one which caus-

velopment or drug discovery, he explained. His take on the industry’s pricing practices more widely is blunt: the”cost of drugs,” he said,”is too high.” About Perlara, PBC Perlara, PBC is the Public Benefit Corporation working on precision drug discovery for disorders that are rare. Founded in the year 2014 by Ethan Oren Perlstein & Henry Perlstein Perlara has a total funding of over $12 Million as of now, and is working on over 5000+ rare genetic diseases.

AIIMS To Provide Wearable Sensors To Monitor Air Pollution AIIMS, NEW DELHI WILL OFFER WEARABLE SENSORS TO SCHOOL-GOING ASTHMATIC CHILDREN IN THE FEDERAL CAPITAL WHICH WILL ALWAYS MONITOR THEIR EXPOSURE TO AIR POLLUTION, BOTH INDOOR AND OUTDOOR, TO FACILITATE A RESEARCH IN THE SITUATION. By Shekhar Suman

Assistant professor at the department Dr. Karan Madan said these pollution detectors are lightweight, simple to strap around the waist and will generate comprehensive information in their air pollution exposure. As a component of the research, being

conducted in Sri Ramachandra University at Chennai, University of Edinburgh, Imperial College of London, and collaboration with IIT-Delhi, these sensors will be provided to the kids for a week. “These high-quality sensors will give us information on how much a child is subjected to air pollution while they’re in college, traveling, or are at home”, Dr. Madan Said. These connectors will help the team get real time pollution exposure stats which will be uploaded to the central data server for further analysis. As per AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria, these wearable detectors will be handed over to kids for a week and later can be given for a longer duration. In Dr. Madan words, this initiative will help the team study the varying effects of indoor & outdoor pollution on different being. The enrollment and screening of children for this project have already started.
