Broxtowe Borough Council
This local council decided it needed to find ways of saving money and reducing its carbon footprint. From this starting point, they looked at more effective ways of managing their seasonal bedding to save money and, more importantly, to improve the local environment.
Hugh Turrell, the Councils Technical Horticultural Assistant stated:“To achieve these objectives, many of our seasonal bedding schemes were changed to Euroflor Urban flower meadow seed mixtures, which resulted in fantastic displays that lasted all summer. Hall Om Wong open space, received a very positive public feedback and we hope to extend this scheme to other areas around the Borough next summer; These will include areas of highway verges as well as parks, open spaces and other areas that have been neglected with the objective of bringing them back to life.”

By incorporating Wildflowers areas around our Borough, it has helped boost pollen and nectar availability for our declining pollinator population and as we are all aware these wildflowers are meant for our environment after all!”
Bolton at Home (Sheltered Housing), Bolton Lancashire
“In partnership with Glendale, Bolton at Home has planted more than 20 Euroflor wildflower meadows that have brought additional colour, interest and insects to our estates,”states Ceri McHugh of Bolton at Home. “And we have received lots of positive comments from residents, some of these include 'we have been lucky to have wildflowers on our street this year, they are stunning', 'it's been lovely watching the flowers grow and looks so bright in these strange times and helped keep spirits up' and 'they are absolutely beautiful and are giving so much pleasure to both the elderly folk in the bungalows and the families on our street,'' continues Ceri.
Ceri goes on to say: “We will be using Euroflor seeds again for more wildflower meadows next spring.”

Billericay council, Essex
Lake Meadows, a popular and extremely well-visited park in the heart of Billericay, Essex, has been receiving much public praise for a flower meadow sown with a Euroflor seed mix called 'Sarah Bouquet', which provides height, colour and a prolonged flowering period.
“We have been overwhelmed that so many park users have commented on how amazing the flower meadow is and how much they have enjoyed it,”say the Friends of Lake Meadows, a group of volunteers and supporters who work together with Basildon Council to maintain and develop the park.
Park users have used comments like“stunning”about the flower meadow adjacent to the lake.

Autumn sowing for spring showing
The Perennial Choice There are now eleven perennial Euroflor mixtures recommended for autumn sowing that not only provide wonderful colour displays during the following spring and summer, but also attract pollinating insects. Autumn sowing can take place from August through to October for flowering the following spring and summer. Euroflor seeds are available in an Autumn Discovery Box of 10 x 50g foil sachets (either single or a combination of mixtures) to provide the opportunity to try out different colour combinations and growth habits. One kilo packs are also available. At a typical mid-range sowing rate, a 50g sachet will cover approximately 12.5 sq.m. All mixtures are available to view on the Euroflor website (see below). An Ecological Initiative For more information log on to: Project Pollin-8 is a Rigby Taylor www.euroflor.co.uk initiative to help arrest the decline on the UK bee population. Crucially, springtime flowers provide an earlier seasonal supply of energy-rich nectar and pollen, sustaining pollinators when resources are most scarce.
