The Junior Golf Program began in 1999 and has since developed into a full Academy which offers a variety of programs to young people. The Academy is subsidised in part by the Kendal Binns Junior Fund which is supported by members to assist the development of young golfers.

The aim of the academy is to provide programs for all levels of junior golfers from beginners wanting to try a new sport to advanced juniors wanting to play tournament golf.

The Beginner Program
The Beginner Program (Level 1)
The goal of this program is to provide a fun and safe environment where players can learn the basic skills of golf while engaging with other players to complete drills and games. This is an enjoyable fun program and perfect for someone with little to no golf experience.

All players starting the program are entered at the Beginner Level 1 stage and if they decide that golf is for them, they can advance through the various levels that the Academy offers.
Classes are held Sunday 9:30am-10:30am 11:00am-12:00pm

Duration 8-week clinic during school term
developed proficiency in the basic skills of golf and are ready to take their game onto the golf course. Players will begin learning how to apply the skills learned during the clinics into on course scenarios while learning the rules and etiquette of the game. Players will begin on a short course and as they progress their skills, will move towards playing the hole and course length. Players in this group, over time, are working towards gaining an official G.A. handicap and entrance into the members competitions.
Intermediate (Level 2)
Junior Membership (Level 3)
Leve L 3 A (H ANDICAP ATTAINM e NT )
Following the completion of Level 2 participants can then start to focus on obtaining a handicap, this will allow entry into competitions.
Once you have completed Level 1 you are then able to join the Club as a member, subject to approval and continue developing proficiency in the basic skills of golf. We will take what you have learnt onto the golf course and show you how to put in action the skills learned during the clinics. This includes various on course scenarios along with rules and etiquette of the game. Players will begin on a short course and as they progress their skills, will move towards playing the full course.
The Academy also has a program tailored to players who are more advanced. The goal of the Advanced program is to teach more specific skills such as mental skills and training, course management, speciality shot creation in both long and short game as well as learning proper practise techniques. This program is aimed at players who play tournament golf. The advanced program meets on a monthly basis with players given practice plans to complete in-between sessions.
Classes are held Fortnightly Sunday 3:00pm-5:00pm
Duration 4 sessions per term
When Saturdays from 3:00pm
Duration Weekly on course participation (no coaching) during school terms
Conditions Must have completed Levels 1 & 2 and been approved by a coach to advance into this level
Must be capable of pulling own golf bag or have a parent supervise
This can be determined by a golf coach

Handicap attainment Junior Competition (9 holes)
Ages Approx. 10+
*Required to complete if considering Level 4 (competition golf)
For those who aren’t ready for competition golf we have the following pathway:

Conditions Must have completed Levels 1 & 2 and been approved by a coach to advance
Must be capable of pulling own golf bag or have a parent supervise
This can be determined by a golf coach
Must attend Level 3a to progress through to Level 4

The Kendal Binns Junior Fund
Once you are up and running you may be eligible for assistance through the Kendal Binns Junior Fund. The Kendal Binns Junior Fund (formerly known as the Kendal Binns Cadet Foundation) was formally registered with the Australian Sports Foundation in 2014 and the foundation provides the option of tax deductibility for any person who donates.

Through the Fund, young golfers will be given the necessary support to help them achieve their personal goals in golf whilst helping them grow as valued members of our Club. An important distinction to note is that the Fund will support and grow individual players while the Pennant Hills Golf Club will continue to support representative teams, as it has for many years.
KBJF Scholarship Holder Clinic (Level 5)*
Offered to all KBJF scholarship holders and others as determined by Junior Coaching Professional.
Classes are held Fortnightly Sundays 3:00-5:00pm
Goal To continue to develop competitive skills on the golf course and in practice
Cost $75 per term of training
Condition Playing regularly in members and junior competitions
Junior Pennant and e ncourage Shield representation
JNJG competition
Selection Criteria As agreed with selection Committee
Age Approx. 10+
Note Recommendation from Director of Golf or Assistant Director of Golf - Approval by KBJF Committee
