The Way Bobby Sees It Bobby McMullen is a competitive mountain biker on a mission to race the most demanding downhill course in the country. Adding to the difficulty: Bobby is blind. With the help of a guide and a rigorous training schedule, Bobby is determined to race his bike down a course riddled with obstacles and flanked by steep, life-threatening cliffs. But, the racecourse isn’t the only challenge in Bobby’s life. Between thrills, spills, and jaw-dropping helmet camera footage, we see how Bobby uses humor, determination, and unshakeable optimism to battle adversity - both on and off the bike. The Way Bobby Sees It airs Tuesday, January 18 at 10 p.m., and again on Thursday, January 20 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV/HD The Way Bobby Sees It is part of Dialogue on Disability: The Herman & Margaret Schwartz Community Series. A partnership between WXXI and Al Sigl Community of Agencies, this week-long outreach initiative is designed to stimulate community dialogue about the perspectives and abilities of people with disabilities. At the heart of this initiative is television and radio programming that celebrates the amazing lives of people with disabilities. Dialogue on Disability runs January 16-23, and is made possible thanks to Photo credit: 20 Toe Photo support from the Fred L. Emerson Foundation. In the listings, an asterick (*) identifies Dialogue on Disability programs. Executive Staff Norm Silverstein, President & CEO Susan Rogers, Executive Vice President & General Manager Jeanne E. 1370 Connection Forums & AM 1370 Specials A Season’s Griot airs Sunday, January 2 at 10 p.m. Hosted by acclaimed storyteller Madafo Lloyd Wilson, this annual one-hour special captures the tales and traditions of African-American and African peoples. This year’s program features a retrospective of the wonderful stories and music from 17 years of A Season’s Griot. State of the State Address airs Wednesday, January 5 at 1 p.m. WXXI will carry the Governor’s State of the State address live from Albany. The Promised Land: Frank and Audrey airs Sunday, January 9 at 10 p.m. On a 10-week tour of 16 national parks in 1995, Frank and Audrey Peterman were awed by the beauty of America and warmed by the friendliness of fellow campers. But among all of the park tourists, the Petermans saw only two fellow African-Americans. Host Majora Carter joins the Petermans and a group of teens from inner-city Houston as they crawl through a wondrous 100foot cave in Yosemite. And we meet Shelton Johnson, Yosemite’s only black park ranger, who is
