Thu 30 April - Sat 2 May Middle Ground Theatre Company is delighted to present Richard Harris’ acclaimed psychological thriller The Business of Murder, which enjoyed a successful nine-year run in the West End. Stone, a humourless and dour man, invites Dee, a television playwright, over to his flat on the premise of discussing a script. Once there, she is surprised when superintendent Hallett, the man with whom she is having an affair, also arrives for an entirely different reason. But nothing is as it seems, and as the plot twists and turns the motive of their host Stone gradually becomes clear. They are all, it would seem, in the same business....The Business of Murder. This slick thriller stars Robert Gwilym, known by millions for his role as Dr Max Gallagher in Casualty, alongside Paul Opacic (Emmerdale, Bad Girls, Hollyoaks), and Joanna Higson (Shameless, WPC56).

Matthew Bourne’s internationally acclaimed dance thriller is back! The Car Man is loosely based on Bizet’s popular opera and has one of the most thrilling and instantly recognisable scores in New Adventures’ repertoire. The familiar 19th Century Spanish cigarette factory becomes a greasy garage-diner in 1960’s America where the dreams and passions of a small-town are shattered by the arrival of a handsome stranger. Fuelled by heat and desire, the inhabitants are driven into an unstoppable spiral of greed, lust, betrayal and revenge. Featuring Lez Brotherston’s epic design and Matthew Bourne’s vivid storytelling with music by Terry Davies and Rodion Shchedrin’s Carmen Suite (after Bizet’s Carmen), The Car Man is another spectacular production from the UK’s most popular dance theatre company.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL Wycombe Swan is raising money to help fund brand-new operating theatres at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. For the past three years HQ Theatres & Hospitality, alongside sister company Qdos Entertainment, has been supporting the Theatres for Theatres appeal, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. ©2007 Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (©2008 Theatres for Theatres) Registered charity no. 23582
So far the generosity of audiences and staff has raised over £570,000 for the charity, but we have more to raise to help build and equip a suite of new operating theatres at the Hospital which will open in 2017. You can donate using collection tins at Wycombe Swan or online at gosh.org/theatredonation Your support makes a huge difference. Thank you.
