With the emergence of Electro, Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend - Harry Osborn - returns, and his greatest battle begins, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common the mysterious company Oscorp.

Forced from their village to make way for a dam, he is blamed for a string of disasters that befall his family. In their search for a new home, Ahlo meets orphan Kia and her eccentric uncle Purple. To prove he’s not cursed, Ahlo is determined to win the dangerous, lucrative Rocket Festival. With remarkable access to real rituals in the mountains of Laos this is a delightful glimpse into a very different world. WOW Wales One World Film

The Past (12A) Tue 6 & Wed 7 Director: Asghar Farhadi. Starring: Ali Mosaffa, Bérénice Bejo, Tahar Rahim. 130 Minutes. Subtitled Farhadi’s follow-up to his superb, Oscar-winning A Separation is another stunning study of modern family life in emotional flux. This time set in a Paris suburb where Ahmad arrives from Tehran to divorce his tempestuous, estranged wife Marie. Its gripping, deeply humane script, is a masterwork of restraint that drip-feeds one explosive revelation after another. Winner Best Actress Award Cannes Film Festival 2013

Divergent (12A) From Fri 9

Director: Neil Burger. Starring: Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet, Theo James. 139 Minutes. Like Hunger Games this is the story of a young woman forced to rebel against a society stacked against her. Here the future society is divided into five factions that each represent a different virtue. But Tris is Divergent, which means she doesn't fit into any group. If anyone knew her secret, it would mean certain death. Tris discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society. Can Tris save the people she loves . . . or will she be destroyed?

Twenty Feet from Stardom (12A) Fri 9 & Sun 11

Director: Morgan Neville. Starring: Darlene Love, Lisa Fischer, Merry Clayton, Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, Sting. 91 Minutes. This is a wonderfully exuberant tribute to the fabulous backing singers who worked on classic albums through the 60s & 70s. Millions loved their voices but no one even knew their names. While the guys they worked with made millions, they were forgotten. Triumphant and heartbreaking in equal measure, this interweaves poignant, funny interviews, contemporary concert footage and great archival stuff to finally give them the recognition they deserve! Winner Best Documentary Oscar 2014

Director: Jalil Lespert. Starring: Pierre Niney, Guillaume Gallienne, Charlotte Le Bon. 106 Minutes. Subtitled. Paris, 1957. At 21 Yves Saint Laurent is catapulted to international stardom as the successor to Christian Dior. Against the backdrop of Sixties' liberation he tries to democratise fashion, creating the first-ever 'ready to wear' collection that shocks the fashion world. He builds YSL into a fashion house renowned for liberating women all over the world. Not just for those who love fashion; like The Butler, this tells the story of an era through the eyes of one man who saw it all.


Need for Speed: 2D & 3D (12A) From Fri 16

Director: Scott Waugh. Starring: Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots, Michael Keaton. 132 Minutes. Based on the successful racing video game, this tale of revenge and retribution boasts gleaming fast cars, slick, spectacular chase scenes, and a top calibre cast. Mechanic Tobey Marshall is framed for the death of his friend by racer Dino Brewster. After two years in the clink, he sets off in a multi-million-dollar Ford Mustang on a road trip of revenge, bent on besting Dino at a legendary underground street race. “a petrolhead festival with some outrageously silly stunts.” The Guardian

Khumba, A Zebra's Tale: 2D & 3D (U) Sat 17 & Sun 18

Director: Anthony Silverston. Starring: Jake T Austin, Liam Neeson, Richard E Grant. 85 Minutes. After his herd rejects him for having only half his stripes, a young zebra sets out on a daring mission across the Karoo Desert to find the legendary water hole where the first zebras got their distinctive markings. Vulnerable to the ferocious leopard, Phango, who controls the waterholes and terrorizes the animals in the Great Karoo, Khumba is rescued by a quirky duo, Mama V, a free spirited wildebeest, and Bradley, a flamboyant but insecure ostrich.

300: Rise of An Empire: 3D (15) Tue 20 & Wed 21

Director: Noam Murro. Starring: Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro, Eva Green. 102 Minutes. Hopelessly outnumbered by a vengeful Persian armada, Athenian war hero, Themistokles, unites the Greeks, forms a ragtag navy and heads into the Aegean Sea. Based on Frank Miller's latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster 300. Themistokles leads the charge against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemesia, the mad, vampy, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

Calvary (15) Sat 17 & Sun 18

Director: John Michael McDonagh. Starring: Chris O'Dowd, Brendan Gleeson, Dylan Moran. 100 Minutes. From the director of The Guard comes another darkly comic thriller in the same vein of wicked black humour. Father James a good priest who has been told he has a week to live. As the death threat was delivered at confession, he doesn’t know who it was, and can’t go to the police. So he opts to try to understand his small minded, frankly bonkers parishioners in the hope of dissuading the killer.

The Lunchbox (PG) Tue 20 & Wed 21

Director: Ritesh Batra. Starring: Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur, Nawazuddin Siddiqui. 104 Minutes. Subtitled. Lonely young wife Ila is dissatisfied with her daily lot. Every day she prepares lunch for her neglectful husband to be delivered by the legendary Mumbai Lunchbox wallahs who deliver a million similar lunches to desks all over the city. Grouchy widowed accountant Sajaan is unsure what his imminent retirement will bring. But when Ila’s lunchbox goes astray, they build a gentle rapport via the notes they exchange. The humorous script reveals a wonderfully observed range of subtle emotions as their friendship blossoms.

X Men: Days of Future Past (12A) from Thu 22

Director: Bryan Singer. Starring: James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart. 139 Minutes. The ultimate X-Men team, with the original X-Men characters joining forces with their younger selves to fight an epic battle. In this time-travelling sequel-prequel Wolverine is sent back by Professor X to hook up with his younger self in an effort to change the past and save the future! Confused yet? With original X-Men director Bryan Singer back in the chair and pretty much all cast members from previous incarnations returning, expect a superheroic blockbuster!


Postman Pat (U) from Fri 23

Director: Mike Disa. Starring: David Tennant, Jim Broadbent, Stephen Mangan, Rupert Grint. 88 Minutes. This animated cartoon is ideal holiday entertainment for the young ones. Pat, the friendly local postie (along with his black and white cat!) finds his beliefs challenged by the lure of fame and fortune after he enters a TV talent show competition.

Transcendence (12A) from Sat 24

Director: Wally Pfister. Starring:Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman, Cillian Murphy, Kate Mara. 119 Minutes. Top Artificial Intelligence designer, Dr. Will Caster creates a sentient machine that combines the collective intelligence of everything ever known with the full range of human emotions. For his wife Evelyn and best friend Max their worst fears are realized as Will's thirst for knowledge becomes an endless quest for power. But there are those determined to stop him. When his mind is downloaded into a mega-computer he finds he has powers beyond his wildest dreams . . .

Catrin Finch & Seckou Keita Fri 2, 8pm. £15 (£13)

2013 was an amazing year for Welsh harpist Catrin Finch and Senegalese kora player Seckou Keita. Winners of the prestigious fRoots Album Of The Year for their debut album Clychau Dibon, nominated for two BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, and a top ten album.

From Wales and West Africa, Finch and Keita blend two completely different musical cultures and create something coherent, relevant and entirely new, merging the boundaries between classical, world, folk and traditional music. “Catrin Finch is a celebrated harpist...this is (Seckou Keita’s) most satisfying work to date... the interaction is remarkable...an elegant, gently exquisite set.” The Guardian

Mark Steel's Back In Town Sat 3, 8pm. £15 The ‘Mark Steel’s in Town Show’, based on the Radio 4 series in which he writes a show centred around each town. “For this show I’ve found dozens more towns to humiliate, as well as pledging to discover what makes your own town ridiculous” As well as Mark Steel’s In Town, Mark has presented the BAFTA nominated Mark Steel Lectures for BBC2, is a regular on BBC One’s Have I Got News For You and Radio 4’s Newsquiz. He’s also appeared on BBC2’s QI and Room 101. He’s written several, acclaimed books, including: Reasons To Be Cheerful and What’s Going On and he writes a weekly column for The Independent.

Al Lewis Thu 8, 8pm. £12.50 North Wales singer-songwriter Al Lewis has so far released two Welsh Language albums and the 'Welsh Music Prize' nominated album 'In the Wake'. Compared to the likes of James Taylor and Meic Stevens, he delivers each of his melodic tracks with a modern twist and youthful eneregy. Wyeside to start screening English National Opera! It’s official; our jam-packed Satellite Live! programme is getting even bigger with this exciting new addition. The English National Opera season kicks off with a fabulous live broadcast of Berlioz’s BENENUTO CELLINI, conducted by Edward Gardner, and directed by Terry Gilliam. Tue 17 June @ 7pm.Tickets £17 full, £15 concs. “Terry Gilliam brings his unique theatrical vision to Berlioz’s vibrant opera of thwarted love, elopement, intrigue, disguise and mistaken identity.” Other titles in the season include Otello, La Traviata, The Pirates of Penzance, and Carmen.
